So I get a bruiser and fighter as my usually two starting main eventers for men and woman. Then I look for a tag team for each side. I usually try and get at least a giant and cruiser for each men and woman and then the next will be whichever I can work out for face and heel. So far I have 4 for singles and 8 for tag. So I have 12 people. I start the show with that. I usually have the tag team groups be lesser stars. Well the first week goes well since I now have all matching pairs. But then for the next week I split up the tag teams and have them fight in singles and extras do promos. If there is someone I want from the signing like the next competitor I want for one of my champions I get that.
I think what I am doing is spreading myself too then as I try to do both men and women equally and end up with half a roster that can't compete and when stamina or vetoes kick in I usually can't combine the shows well enough. I assume my mistake is trying to do everything and instead of having a tag division for both male and female I should only have one for right now and fill that roster out and let the other by the way side. Otherwise I just end up with bad matches.
But I mean even on normal it just seems like I have to be perfect. I do watch others videos on mygm but I just can't get into the same rhythm I guess. So like I said, I just suck lol I understand what needs to be done I just can't get it to work lol
If you want to do well as the game is, don't even bother picking up tag wrestlers. Fill the roster with singles and use them in tags. Eventually one will say "hey pair me with so and so", there is your tag team when you need it. Also, don't try to get a female brawler if you already have a male one. I usually just do female: cruiser/giant Male: brawler/fighter. Take a few of the ones (forget the name) that work well regardless of type to fill in the gaps when needed. During the draft don't worry about heel or face, you can turn them in a promo on the first show if needed. Pick up "local talent" after a few weeks as jobbers so when someone needs a rest you have filler.
If you want to just have fun, adjust the draft roster to fit how you want to play. If you want dedicated tag teams then reduce their popularity so they are cheap and you can pick them up in the draft for nothing. Change who is available in the draft so you get who you want. Adjust the type to make who you want to be brawler and fighter and all that so you always have match ups. Sort of cheating but I have done a few runs like this and it feels more like modern WWE brand management than the core game does because you can draft like 25-30 people with the starting cash.
Thank you, that helps a lot. I'll try this next time I play it. So just let tag teams happen organically and then make a tag division through that. But that's smart having female or male using only two types that synergize with each other.
Here are some general tips I can give you that I learned:
1. As someone else said, I feel like the current system isn't built for Tag Teams. I ended my MyGM Career without booking a single tag match, even when superstars requested it. You are tiring out 2 extra superstars for no reason and stamina is too valuable.
2. When doing your initial draft, try and use the following system which I will explain why, here is what I used:
- 2 Good Male Fighters + 2 Evil Male Brawlers
- 1 Evil Giant, 1 Good Cruiser
- 1 Evil Male specialist, 1 Good Male specialist
- 1 Good Female Fighter, 1 Evil Female Brawler
- 1 Good Female Specialist, 1 Evil Female Specialist
The reason for the above setup is, for example, you will pair 1 good male fighter with 1 evil male brawler in the entire first month, the rivalry will build, and it will culminate at the PPV (hopefully level 4 by then). Then, when that rivalry is over, you can now pair that same good male fighter with the OTHER evil male brawler that you signed. Specialists can also fill this role.
3. You generally want to do Normal 1v1 matches to save stamina, then do a special match (Table/TLC, etc) at the PPV to finish off their rivalry.
4. If your fighter doesnt have stamina, USE THE PROMO SLOTS FOR CALL-OUTS ONLY. This will build their rivalry to the next level without needing them to face each other in 1v1 matches. It also doesn't matter what their "Promo rating" is, it will always be the same result.
Good luck!
Thank you that's also good advice. Will use this as well and let you all know how I do later tonight when I can play.

Brock was supposed to be the champion, was gonna rig it for him lol but that was ruined hahaha
Yeah, I think the problem is the AI doesn't rest it's stars at all. I noticed a lot of times they had low stamina people.
Note that tag matches don't tire each star as much as an equivalent solo match. I think the stamina costs are something like 60% or 70% of the cost of a solo match (per star). That's still a bigger total cost to your roster pool, though, plus the extra two stars won't get rested that week.
