WWE 2K22
Character Creation nerfed?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW-15gBGnxg

If you look at the "New and Improved Creation Suite" in their trailer, you can see that you now have four options for creating a new wrestler that seem to give you a base body-type to work with...
So we're already seeing limitation- sorry, "streamlining" when it comes to your created wrestler's body.

You don't think they'd go so far as to dumb-down literally the best part of their franchise, do you?

They mentioned in an interview that some things have changed in an effort to stop some of the glitches that comes from having so many options that they can't account for every combination. Body type blending was one of those things that had to be removed to improve overall quality.

I'd start at 8:21 and watch until 11:15 at least.

Great... so their solution to performance issues / glitches was to remove features completely instead of fixing or re-creating them.
Classic dev-speak for "downgrade".
Guess we won't know for sure until they give an in-depth video featuring character creation (fat chance, right?) or until the game releases.

Here's hoping things aren't as bad as they're looking regarding 2K's attitude towards this franchise.
I'd watch the rest of that interview in general as they do go into things like needing to take their time to make sure a change doesn't have a knock-on effect and break something else. It came across as them explaining that they were looking to build a foundation and not extend themselves too far to solve the issues in recreating everything they're having to remove.

"Building a foundation" doesn't negate the fact that the game is very likely going to have less customization than previous games.
Less ≠ More, no matter which way it's spun.
I'd take a few glitches over a dumbed-down and subjectively inferior version of what used to be the best character creator in gaming.
Even better, I'd take an extra few months of development to at LEAST put the game ON-PAR with previous entries...
But I guess at this point we're supposed to be thankful if the game makes it past the splash-screen without crashing. :steamhappy:

Like I said, we'll see when it comes out.
Hope for the best, but in this case, expect disappointment.
Seeing as the issues with the glitches is part of the reason WWE 2K20 has been looked down on, I'll have to personally disagree with your opinion. If it takes a few things being removed to allow for a more stable and immersive overall experience that can then be built upon in later years, I'm for it.

We don't know how much has been taken out yet, all we know about is body type blending. For all we know, those body types in the trailer are just starting positions and other morphing options are still there. There's no indication it has been "dumbed down" as of yet, in my opinion.

If you're constantly delaying a game to improve things, it'll never get released. They had to draw the line somewhere, something they discuss in that interview.

They remove stuff like forever and use one bad excuse for lazyness after another.
1. Wwe2k20 should show you how much they lie and dont give a **peep**
2. 2k knew the contract were done and the ppl left went to AEW, man the work ethic must have been so good on 2k´s part.
3. They knew they have less ppl and still relased and piece of **peep**.

Announcing new controls or whatever shady stuff the pull. I like wrestling games and bought THQ games N64, ps1,ps2, ps3

But what you guys do in here....there is no excuse for "ye we have to take most of our bad codes stuff out, cause we were understaffed and now we tell the **peep* cusomers that we have to doubble down for quality, dont tell them its because we still understaffed."

Yep nothing to see here.

"If you're constantly delaying a game to improve things, it'll never get released. They had to draw the line somewhere, something they discuss in that interview."

That could have done to 2k20 cause like i stated they were understaffed and knew it. :steamfacepalm:

Please stop defending these guys. Even if you love to have a wrestling game you can still be mad at them. I had fun with 2k19 (refunded bought for 10€ later) and 2k20 (refunded and bought for 20€)

God so much missinformation, btw the AEW part you can google, should have done that before smart**peep** around !
i think you can edit the body types.. those are for the Mycareer thing who cares one we get the game lets just play around and mess around with teh Creation suite thats what mad e the game good

That's not just for the MyCareer mode, that's the intro screen for the new character-creator.
You start from one of their base models, and go from there.
The question is, how much (if at all) can you modify the four body-types that they provide you with?
I hope you can freely morph the body type however you see fit. If you can't, I probably won't bother buying this game until a sale. I spend 90% of my time in these games creating characters, so if it limits customization that much I'm probably not gonna be too interested in it.

Same. I originally bought Smackdown VS Raw 2011 because I heard that WWE games had the best character creation of any game at the time.
That in turn got me into modern wrestling (which is awful), but that in turn got me into classic wrestling (which is amazing).
Still, the main reason that I enjoy these games (aside from 2K20, of course) is the amazing level of customization that they offer. Looking at some of the creations that people make is so impressive. Some of people's creations look more like their real-life counterparts than the in-game models do.

If they downgrade that, I have no real reason to come back to the series anymore. Character creation is the one ace-in-the-hole that they have left, especially with other big wrestling games on the horizon.

Hope so . . . Don't wanna see an alien or sponge bob inside the WWE ring . . .
That's part of what made the WWE games fun though!

Pushing the limits was a fun though imho anyway. I'd spend 16+hrs just making my diva over the years the options and creativity has been stripped down so much. Basic tank tops are locked behind currency. Hoping things won't be as dumbed down as they seem. CAW is the reason I play but I've skipped a bunch. 2k20 I believe was my last romp.

Add body morphing feature to create a superstar
as the title suggests, we need that body morphing back we had it in other wwe games before, i know it may clip through the character's body but i think that doesn't really matter because really the game devs nowadays seem to be more oriented towards adding content to battle passes instead of an actual important piece of feature.
^^ totally agree.

My first WWE game was WWE '13 and I remember that having so much better character creation compared to 2K19 and 2K22.
