Taming Question

Hello, I finally got my estate and have the quest to go and tame an animal. So I went and got one of those unicorn scrolls and stood for an over half an hour in the field killing those poor unicorns and not a single one to tame. I went off then and just did quests killing things etc and nothing else to tame either. Is it just my bad luck or is it really really hard to tame anything in this game.

PS (I saw someone riding a unicorn today, went a teeny bit green :D)

Even with the use of a whistle, you'll spend hours trying to tame - or 10 minutes :D

It's completely random as I've had the experience of taming 2 reindeer within the span of 10 minutes and then 2 hours of slaughtering Lake Elephants just to nab one. And even then, I didn't get a mount from either of those, because there's a chance that the tamed animal will only be used for mats and not for a mount.

Super random. I didn't get it until I made a 2nd character that randomly got it when doing some old side quest. Wasn't using whistle or even trying to capture but got the the prompt to start the QTE. When it happened it was an animal with no health just standing there and when I got close I could interact with it.

RNG based, good luck with it, in my case i get a crocodile which i didnt mean to capture lmao

Oh my goodness, thanks all for your replies, I was thinking I was the only one having trouble with this, I guess Ill keep playing and hope I get some nice mounts somehow, sure dont want to ride a crododile! An elephant would be so cool too! :D xo

After this post I played a for like a hour and randomly tamed 3 more times. Didn't catch the fish I wanted though.

Thank you Lionheart, thats great! Geist you were really lucky, I finally got to tame a deer yesterday but nothing else since and I did a lot of killing. Maybe today Ill get another. :D
