What's Updated SDL option on Steam Deck?

What's the difference between regular Rouge Legacy 2 and updated SDL? I can't find the information what is it.

the SDL one is a build that’s made to play natively on Linux (so Steam doesn’t have to use the Proton layer to make it work on Deck)

You can choose either one and it should work, which one is best for this particular game I have no idea.
