Advice to maximizing gold gains for NG+1 and beyond?
Only recently finished the base game, and wanted to climb towards completionist achievements but without it taking insanely long.

Anyone have tips for maximizing gold gains as far as upgrades and maybe playing certain characters go? The game is pretty challenging for me still, and I can't really gauge efficiency trying pacifist characters grabbing chests, or if small +% gold upgrades/+% gold trait upgrades are worthwhile

Every gold upgrade in the Manor is worthwhile, as are Bounty Runes. What I have to say doesn't really differ from the wiki, so I'll just link you to it.

My experience has been this: max trait-based gain (mining shaft) immediately, put at least a few ranks into the massive vault (trait-agnostic gain), and take whichever traits you know you're good with. (I never bother with 1hp or pacifist personally, too many cheap shots and mobs drop gold too). And don't underestimate a sanguine vegan (or a vampiric one if you get that lucky).

To maximize gold gain, it's best to get through the game a couple of times first, with as little levels as you can manage.

+2 I was getting 100-200k+

+3 I was getting 300k+

+5 and beyond, in the millions.

It scales quite well.

Best way to make gold is to just beat bosses to the best of your ability and avoid deliberate farming, bosses drop a lot of gold and getting to the next NG+ tier will be infinitely more time efficient than farming your current one. Even consider using the Architect to beat bosses quickly, the gold cost of using him is worth it to get to the next NG+ tier faster.

Then once you hit a wall of difficulty you absolutely cannot surpass try to find manageable gold boosting traits and full clear the map, with as many bounty and ore runes as you can equip. Always do farming on the highest NG+ tier that your current level and skill will allow you to reach.

This,
I made a mistake farming early then I realized the gold is boosted significantly in newer threads (gold bag =100g, crystal=1000g), so always push forward to the next thread as much as you can, only farm when it's impossible for you.

Folllow what others here have said. I had a 450k run in NG+1, a 600k run in NG +2. Going for a million gold run in NG+3

I hit 100k in the first thread by clearing out the entire map except the lake with a vegan and using the +30% gold item that kills you. Just hit ng+ and each area is about 20-30k with just a minor gold boost buff so the rate rises quite a bit.

Got 600k run in NG2, granted it cleared almost everything from begin to end.
I always tried to rolled for double gold traits first. Vegan trait is kinda op later since it gives massive amount of gold boost (+150% or so) with little draw back as you can now stack up life steal runes and still can heal through various means (Freon's Reward is very good, also mana potion). Stuff like no invul window after damaged is so dangerous and gives less gold so yeah...

Of course try to slap all the gold runes, then the relics if possible on top.
