I've started NG +1 and I found that enemies scale too hard compared to gold output
I found that in base game for same time I can grind gold faster than in NG +1, no matter there is much more gold. Enemies scaling is bigger than drop gold scaling.

I am at same point in NG +1 as I was in base game - doing Fison Lake before blacksmith boss, and gold there comes sooo hard. In base game I could clean whole map in about an hour with a knight. In NG +1 it takes much more time and more effort for same amount of gold. I feel like game became tedious, don't wanna think about requirements to finish it 6 more times.

In my opinion player's castle has it's own scaling that becomes slower with time - because it requires more gold with upgrading. So monsters have to give amount of gold respectively to their power level. However they give less gold. So my progress curve has double slowing and I can feel it on NG +1! What to do in NG +7 then?

Maybe some players that are angry about grinding were right?

Not seeing this issue. If you're getting less gold from a higher NG thread then you're doing something wrong.

Exactly as he said.
The citadel ( the first region ) of NG+1 should alerdy give much more gold. And if you wanna rush gold, you can just go to the lake and do a full clear there, and it will give even more.

If you are going for a grind/gold run, you also need to choose a character with a trait that give you a lot of gold, like Vegan.

Also upgrading gold gain trait on your castle as soon as possible ( and as long as they don't cost you way too much ) is a good idea.

You were probably playing with a trait that was giving you large amounts of gold in a previous run. Then you went into NG+, which by default will always give more gold, but it just seemed like you got less because you weren't playing with the trait.

It's about getting gold per period of time. In NG +1 I get less gold because enemies are harder and hit harder, and it slows game so I get less gold than in normal game.

I'm at Lake and I just can't clear it in NG +1 yet ;D It's too hard.

Yes and no. It's all about clear speed - in base game I can clear entire map and have like 40k of gold in an hour with no traits character. With traits is could be slower - depending on trait, and I can get like 60-65k then.

In NG +1 I had max 25k gold on no traits character, because most locations are super dangerous. Any moster in Lake deal 120-170 damage while I have 870 hp on knight. It's 15-20% hp per hit. So any crowded chest room will leave me with no health. I don't speak about mages, bards etc and especially characters with traits.

So you went into NG+ and just expect to be able to clear Pishon Dry Lake after the difficulty of it scaled? Of course it's going to be slower, because you can't just skip straight to the final biome and expect to breeze through it.

Point is, farming Citadel Agartha in NG+ gives more gold than Pishon Dry Lake in NG0. That is a fact. Farm the Citadel. Don't farm the Lake lol.

So don't skip to the final biome? Dry Lake is still has higher stats than every other biome. You only really get to the point of being able to roll through anywhere once you hit +5 or so and the levels are high enough that the scaling between biomes isn't noticable.

I find NG+1 the first area gives much more gold than the last area despite being much, much easier. Either you didn't invest in strength or your trait selection is wonky, because Dry Lake was basically me speedrunning the area because its so damn annoying with projectiles and enemies everywhere meanwhile NG+1 castle is braindead easy but gives me 5-10k easy.

I went into NG+ and breezed all bosses, then why I can't clear locations at same speed?

Farming Agarta in NG+ gives like 10k, it's a price of 1 upgrade for me. What the point?

Again - in base game I can get trait character and clear everything fast and safe, while in NG+ I can't use trait character - toi dangerous. In fact I have problem even with usual clear characters. So I get less gold in NG+.

Well, I have an opposite situation. Anyway I can't get anything per 5k - my cheapest upgrade is around 8k.

If it doesn't sound rude, can i ask your castle level?

He's talking about how much longer it takes. He knows you get more gold, he's just saying the gold increase doesn't line up with the difficulty increase, in his opinion. I'm not at ng+ yet, so this makes me think maybe I should stay in base game for a while and stop trying to rush to ng+ lol. Maybe wait until I max out the second tier of vit/str/int?
Derpykat5 May 12, 2022 @ 2:55pm
If you think you get more gold in NG+0 than +1 you can always go back to +0 and farm there.
