That said, not everyone is that good. I'm most definitely not, for example. Personally, I didn't care about bosses for a long time - I just enjoyed exploring the castle (you keep finding new rooms that you've never seen before) and trying out different spells and relics. I also focused on unlocking new classes (rather than making myself stronger), because I was curious how they would play.
If exploring the game in that way is not your thing and you want a quicker path through the game, you can always enable house rules and make things easier for you. There are no negative repercussions for doing so. The game is very forthcoming in letting every player tweak their experience to what they like most.
hi, sorry for that experience, this is definitely not a game to play casually. it entails failing a lot, learning and then gradual progress. some people do find it enjoyable, just maybe not your type, so as you can see your post offends some of the people here.
Just farm more really, you will eventually get there and start to snowball. 6 hours is not really that much for this game as the amount of farming you need at first is really insane. Try all those gold traits, slap those armors, also pick good spells (lightning storm for DPS and wind wall if defensive). Can even try Duelist too it's one of the most broken DPS class in the game as long as you keep the weapon.
your logic amazes me
you don't need to kill any of the 6 area bosses to just.... move on to the next area. Grab all the Heirlooms on offer, and go rampage out Axis Mundi way.
Use the engineer to lock the castle after finding the boss, so you don't need to repeat clearing the level, that way you can keep trying and gettin better against the boss till you beat him then you can move to the next area.
And even if you don't beat the boss you can still explore further into the other areas.
Give it another try.
4th area (Stygian Study) is one of the best options to get gold early, you can enter by getting the heirloom at 3rd area or by performing some well timed spin kicks using the lamps on the entrance. Also at the middle of the 2nd area (Axis Mundi) you will find an NPC that will help you unlocking area teleporters.
Yeah that can also help a lot.
For perspective I have almost 80 hours in the game and about to complete most of the base content from what I understand. I'd say the first 10-20 hours can be just exploring and fumbling along before you really figure out what works etc...
