Scar Empathy Bonuses - How Do They Work

I have found a bunch of what I believe to be scar empathies but they do not seem to be making the scars easier. Is there something I am missing?

When you go to the scar challenge, it tells you exactly what the empathies do. You have to set them though. Like 1/1, or 3/7, or all 9 out of 9 empathies. You set them on each individual scar challenge when you choose what scar to play. It's the numbers next to the scar and it tells you how much easier it makes it. (I think 15% more damage per empathy used? I haven't played in a few weeks)

There are two types of Scar Challenge

The first type is time challenge and locked class. This type is all about time to get rewards so Empathy bonus is 100% beneficial all and all, just pick whatever highest.

The second type is scoring that uses variety of criteria. Empathy does also work here, giving around 15% HP and damage bonus per level, but it also comes with score penalty multiplier. I personally go with around level 3 or 4 for smoother sailing but doesn't dump on my score.

Thank you! Turns out I had found all of them for the scars I opened, but didn't know that I needed to enable them. It is all clear now - I appreciate it!
