People REALLY doesn't have a clue how games are made today...
In Rebirth, you can toggle filter which reduces the pixelated style and makes it resemble the old flash version.
I didn't say switch back completely, just want an option to revert to old style as the new style looks like some Nickelodeon-eque kiddie crap. Kind of like the new Battletoads. It's ugly af.
I may not know how games are made these days, but I know ugly when I see it. It could be a filter just to add some pixelation to the game.
I DO agree on this.. I like Pixel art better for this.. But the new style is not bad at all, for this kind of art.. great colors and contrast, great particle effects and so on. I prefere pixel art, but I also like this :-) I wouldn't call it crap at all
Cringe, please try to roast better
Pretty sure the default setting for this is off in Rebirth? So it comes with the pixelated look - you can turn the filter on to smooth it out and resemble the original better (albet not completely) I would uninstall/delete data to check but not losing 700+ hours :D
vectors are smooth lines, and scale to any resolution perfectly.
pixels ( raster based ) only heirustically scale, which leaves imperfections at higher resolutions, and muddled ones at lower resolutons.
original isaac is a flash game, they switched to pixel sprites for the steam release.
they're not even close to interchangable
Thank you for explanation, probably not the best example to use in that case.
However, that still doesn't change my opinions on the aesthetics. The sequel looks far too smooth, it's just not a great look IMO - I preferred the rougher look of the original.
Don't think this is a niche opinion, I see plenty of comments sharing same feedback.
