So, assuming you have unlocked the special classes you want, this is the order I recommend:
Armor unlocks
Rune unlocks
Damage manor upgrades
Health manor upgrades
Rest of the manor upgrades
Class levels
Charon gold dump
Thanks you for your answer, this is gonna be handy for sure.
Would you recommend dumping everything on armor unlocks even if the price raises? Or maybe should I split it once it becomes more expensive?
That depends entirely on how you want to play.
If you play a variety of classes, it's best to spread your points around so you don't just buff your melee classes and leave your caster classes in the dust. This goes for upgrading Mastery too, so you can level each class as they come up without hitting the cap.
Some people just want to scale really hard and be powerful though, so if you want to say, dump all your points into Vitality and Armor and Strength and never play magic classes, you can do that too.
However, one problem with that approach is that you'll want to level Mastery on every class to buff all your stats, and if you don't level stats equally, your Barbarians will be really strong but your Mages will be super weak, and since Mages buff Intelligence for their Mastery, it only compounds the problem. Just FYI if you want to start exploring other classes.
Armor drops are nice, but they get very expensive with Cosmic Overload, like hundreds of thousands of ore to upgrade 1 piece of the later sets. And a lot of the time all you're getting is just a few stat boosts when you do that. Level 100 Unity Bonuses are tempting, and some are really good, but I wouldn't overdo it if you're starved for Ore.
At the end of the day, just buy according to what you can afford. If you have lots of Ore and ran out of gear drops, buy the Armor upgrade. If you have max Mastery on a bunch of classes, buy the Mastery upgrade, etc.
Scars are the fastest way to get it but bosses also gives a little bit of it and you can fights them forever if you want.
forever?
no, because if you go back to an already completed NG you don't get souls
If you complete all the Scars you get tons of soul stones, which will be a massive powerspike depending on how early you manage to get Bronze/Silver/Gold on all of them. So that factors in as well.
I'll also add that buying Soul Orbs with Ore and Aether contributes towards the total upgrades needed to unlock Cosmic Overload. Between that and scars, I think I hit Overload at NG+4? It's surprisingly easy to unlock early and outpace the difficulty scaling if you don't mind waiting on runes and equips.
Not really, i think most players use drowned first and then move on to also include other pieces once they can get all 3 set bonus on it, but i don't see that as super important first buys simply because it takes quite a while before you can even GET +9 to drop for all sets, im at NG+15 atm and i JUST got my drowned set to +8.
For example: The Kin set (last set) you can only get once you reach NG+1 or NG+2 (can't remember which it is), and to get the last set to +9 i read you need to reach NG+20, if anything, i would recommend getting armor to +6, and runes to +6, then at NG+10 or more, max armor and then runes, after that i would max +str/dex/Rune weight as each NG+ will increase enemy health and armor.
my VIT/Health has not been an issue for a long time now so i don't prioritise that at all and have it at 13 or something
