Is gnawed bone a noob trap ? How does it works below 100% resolve ?
According to wiky, it's calculated from your base HP, ignoring rotten fruit and purified relics.
It cost 20 resolve and bring 30% max HP once stacked.
Even without factoring the loss from rottenfruit demeter's trial, at 100% resolve, the cost is 20% HP and the benefit is 30% of 80% thus 24%. A meager 4% HP. And it get worse, below 70 resolve it costs more than it benefits.
Or Am I missing something ?

You're missing the fact that it's possible to have more than 100% resolve.

Resolve is a ressource given at start of a run, one should spend it wisely to get stronger/healthier/deadlier. There's no minmaxing far above 100% resolve.
Even if one don't like to get far below 100% (I don't. except when wearing leather bonus 3) there comes a point where you have around 100% resolve and say *ok, one more relic and let's kill the bosses*.
My point is *at no point should this be gnawed bone because that would be a loss of effective health (even more taking rottenfruit into account).
The order of taking relics being neutral, if the gnawed shouldn't be the last one, it shouldn't be taken at all.
Two exceptions being :
1) One will stop at 100% resolve.
2) One will drop at 30% resolve thanks to Leather unity 3 (in witch case all the relics are good)

Your "exceptions" make up a majority of play. If you regularly dip below 100% resolve in your runs then don't take Gnawed Bone. That's fine. That doesn't make it a "noob trap" because a large amount of people don't play that way.

I wouldn't consider the bone a newbie trap since I believe that most new players will not go below 100% resolve, thus your calculations are not relevant for them.

As a new player, you notice pretty quickly that a) you don't have a lot of health, b) you'll keep running into situations where you'll lose health, and c) opportunities to replenish health are (usually) scarce. Typically, this means that the duration of a newbie's run is determined by how long they can draw out their continuous health loss (whereas experienced players can usually sustain their max health until they go into a boss battle). Therefore, for most new players, it doesn't make sense to reduce their max HP as it will usually shorten their run.

Bone is just mostly meh.
It gives around the same HP as the x2 Blessing of Life, but BoL is free and can easily just heal up later with life steal, doesn't need food, and doesn't need resolve.

I still occasionally grab it simply because the RNG is weird and I have nothing to spend resolves on (you can have like 250-300 later), also for Drum effect but that's about it.
