how do i level up things from the blacksmith

i got like 2 things leveled up once, but still have not idea how.
and i'm talking about the lvl 15-30 thing, the things that's shown in the name as +1.
and how do i get the level 15 and the othe 2 levels turned on?

once you find the blueprints for the +1 and up versions in the castle, you must purchase them in the blacksmith for more gold and some ore (the grey bars you've been picking up). doing so will increase the stats that piece provides (as well as the weight, so be careful). the 'level 15' part is the Affinity Bonus, wearing enough of the same type of gear unlocks a bonus based on the set, with higher level items providing more affinity, and each set has 3 levels.

how do i unlock the Affinity Bonus, and how do i get the Affinity Bonus working?
i once had 1 Affinity Bonus working, but it stopped and i don't know why.

You need to level up the armor/weapon (find additional blueprints) to unlock additional affinity bonuses.

To enable higher-level affinity bonuses, you need to equip multiple items of the same set.

The blacksmith UI isn't very good. You can only tell how much affinty you have with any type of armor by hovering on a piece set. Wouldn't it be better to have a summary of all the active affinity outside the armor selection window ?

i get the whole set of the last things and use the whole set, but the 3RD Affinity Bonus is still locked. why is that and yes, the whole set is +1.

One of the stats gear pieces provide is "Unity". Leather gear gives Leather Unity, Warden gear gives Warden Unity, and so on. You can see how much each piece provides by selecting it and looking at the stats. All non-trinket gear gives 5 unity at first, plus another 5 for every time you've upgraded it. Trinkets give twice that much - 10, plus another 10 for every upgrade. You need at least 20 unity from a single set to get the first unity bonus, at least 50 to get the second bonus, and at least 100 to get the third bonus. A full set of +1 gear is only worth 60 unity, so you'll have to level them up more than that if you want the third bonus.

Because +1 doesn't provide enough unity bonus to get 100 unity. Like, you'll get 10 unity for each piece, and 20 unity for a +1 trinket piece. So you probably only have 60 unity, and that third unity bonus requires 100.

By finding more upgrades while playing, and then activating the upgrades (with gold) via the Blacksmith.
