The final boss is just complete garbage
I'm on NG+3 and I have still never managed to beat the final boss without either a vampire trait or a rune that restores you back to life after you die.

I'm sure that there are super awesome hella great players out there who can dodge all of the boss's attacks. Good for you. I have to work eight hours a day, I can't memorize a near endless assortment of animations and tells that show me which cheap nigh-unavoidable attack this jerk is going to throw at me next.

Not to mention the fact that some attacks are just 100% unavoidable. Those projecticles that you have to spin kick off of and then dash though? The inner part hits me maybe 75% of the time the millisecond I spin kick off the outer shell. And this homing missiles that he shoots out of his staff often fly into the screen well before I have any chance of dodging them.

It just sucks. It's really ruining the game for me. Everything else is perfect. The balance and difficulty sliders when you advance up a new game level are great and add a fun challenge teach time, but this boss is just beyond broken. The feeling of dumping AN HOUR into a run to get the runes and perks that you think will help you beat the jerk only to die within seconds just sucks.

Re-balance this broken a-hole please.

Lol I'm on NG+3 myself and I found Irad to be harder in past NGs. But hell, I need relics or hypercoagulation or hero complex or vampirism for like half the damn bosses in this game lol.
Use the Soul Shop options to lock in Boxer with alternate weapon and Wind Wall spell. Blow the heck out of him from halfway across the room and block everything you're not comfortable dodging. No need to get any relics, just walk in and destroy him.

Ohhh the enkindled boxing gloves? That sounds like a good idea for him!
I had a very easy time with him using a Chef with spoons + a spell to destroy projectives.
A base assassin class is more than enough to cheese everything he does, you can get your special back so fast between his attacks.
Dude i also work 8 hours a day plus 5 hours of study in class at university, that's no excuse.
Be calm and just focus on understanding his patterns and how to work around them rather than memorizing
Bring wind wall and some class with evasive talent.

Also, being well rested helps a lot haha.
He's the final boss, he is supposed to be hard. None of his attacks are undodgeable.
Don't excuse your lack of time availability for the difficulty of the game.

If there's legitimate reasons why something isn't working for you, just say that. Saying "I work 8 hours a day I don't have the time to figure it out" is saying "make the game easier for me".

You are on NG+3. If you're working full time and still playing a game at NG+3 you gotta really enjoy the game. You've already finished. You've found ways YOU deal with certain bosses, I personally struggle on many myself (close space is basically impossible for me), but it requiring practice and skill doesn't make it bad.
That "100% unavoidable" atack is the easiest one in his kit. In fact he is one of the easiest bosses in the game, easier that the first one for sure and than the tinker man. It seems you heavily underestimate spin kick radius or aren't using it with dedicated button instead of down+jump. I would also recommend using multipl double jumps and dashes runes.
He's not the hardest boss by a longshot. Probably the only boss I beat in less than 3 tries. Last time I beat him on NG+4 with a knight, with no relics, and the "one hit wonder" trait (which means I did not get hit a single time... got 200,000 gold out of it lol). I could probably not have done that to any other boss because, frankly, most of cain's attacks are very forgiving in comparison. If you keep your distance and just dash over him when he starts getting close, you should only really need to worry about a few certain attacks that make the arena cluttered (like any of his blue fireball attacks, or the floating pink jellyfish with void clouds inside). And for those you can still evade pretty easily if you have distance, or use something like the duelist's roll to just pass through them.

I'm all for "git gut", but this is just not true. The final boss has a much higher damage and many more attacks to learn. There is no way Lamech (normal or prime) remotely compares.
best strategy i found is equipping ammonite set for extra armor, use a dragon lancer class. The shield talent help a lot against the projectiles from the staff, the dark waves, even the glowing ball attack. You can also keep the wind wall spell to clear that attack. as for runes, equipping double jumps are almost essential to avoid the electric attack on the floor while positionning to jumpkick the yellow spark and the runes that give more magic back from attack.
Valkyrie + Wind Wall or the sonic burst thing does wonders against all bosses. Block small projectiles with her talent, which recharges when you block them, or blast everything off with these spells. Avoid the easy ones, counter the big attacks with these spells and go ham on him. with practice, you got this. I'm on NG+7 right now and you have to use everything, and on the higher difficulties the defensive spells are kings.

bruh, tubal is way harder (because of the randomness introduced by the adds).
Cain has like 8 moves, it's really not that hard.

Spoon chef also works pretty well.
