best armour set for chef?

opinions on which set is best suited for the chef hero,

Depends on where you are at in the game and what level of gear you have. If your gear is max level 9, I think the "best" gear for all classes is probably Kin Sword, Ammonite Helm, Ammonite Chest, Kin Cape, and Drowned Pendant. Though, that's if everything is level 9. I used Drowned Sword, Ammonite Helm, Leather Chest, Leather Cape, and Sanguine Pendant/Drowned Pendant if your max level is less than 9.

Chef wants all the intelligence. Better heals, better fire damage, better spells. Makes a big difference

So crescent set works well

Any mix of Crescent, Leviathan or Kin. If you're in early game then just the first 2. Later on Kin Helm can give you lots of Vitality, and Kin Chest gives you lots of Focus. Ammonite set also works, but I usually just pick Leviathan.

As Herr Sten said, the more Int the better.
