(like the one with no iframes after being hit)
I had a reroll earlier with the first screen was wizard, archer, astromancer.
astro and archer both had identical trait (the -50% hp and damage + mana regen trait)
then the reroll had that exact same trait on a gun guy, then perfectionist lancer and then a pirate with nothing.
Yes, even with 4 Heirs and 5x re-rolls, you can still not get a specific trait you are looking for (High gold modifier, or Specific trait like hoarder.) But it does allow you to avoid those 'NOPE' traits you may never want to use (like 0 iframes.)
But infinite rerolls while fishing for the perfect class/trait combo would do weird things to player engagement and motivation. It can cause issues in the opposite extreme.
Relic randomness isn't quite as random/impactfull as it is in a game like Issac or Hades, so the Heir randomness is the largest source of variability between runs in Rouge Legacy.
I just had a full clear run with a duelist (locked in right slot to level DEX moddifier) that had Panic attacks and Neurological disorder (screen darkens and dismissed on hit). That was... something, but Hero was just doing their best and I am proud of them.
Am using all my rerolls to fish for Hoarder trait these days though (and picking Pacifist when it falls on a class I haven't level capped yet.)
currently, i've degraded my engagement of the game to reroll, hope for knight, dragoon/boosty rocket spear guy or boxer with any kind of gold bonus.
if i don't get any of that, run into castle, retire/kill self. try again.
because most of the other classes are just frustrating for me. i hate not being able to defend myself quickly (most classes have a delay on attack or some gimmick with how to aim it)
Also, I should mention Contrarian trait Always has gold bonus. 25%-88% with the Health Care castle upgrade. And no 'down side' other than a random loadout.
Honestly I did a lot of the scar challenges with House rules to get early soul gems.
