Anyone else just finding themselves using the Chef?
Chef just kind of seems objectively the best and most fun class to run. Projectile knockback, passive fire damage, on the fly healing. There's essentially 0 drawbacks and only benefits.

I've been trying to enjoy the other classes, but they're just NOT FUN. I imagine the devs are getting feedback for what classes are picked the most, i wouldn't be surprised if Chef was the most played class, maybe second from the default knight.

Stopped using Chef after the couple first levels, felt like the slow swing and burn damage losing it's value as you go made the class worse as the game goes on.

What are you preferring then? I feel Valkyrie is pretty strong, but nothing else really is clicking for me.

Chef is OP early, but definitely loses steam. Still very very strong, but mainly feels broken early in the game (first run and couple NG+ difficulties) and that's it. Class balance definitely isn't 'balanced' purely around a fresh run.

Barbarian is brainded broken in a lot of ways, ranger can be really strong but doesn't quite shine until later, dualist and assassin can be good but very mechanical, mage can be strong with a good loadout, knight passive is broken af with good timing...... Those are the main ones that come to mind but a lot of them are good for different reasons.

Thought Assassin was awful, but turns out the class is really good so been using it a lot. Struggles often against flying projectile-spam enemies though due to low range and bad air dmg, but I love that the trait is just free cheese through most no-damage challenge rooms.

Outside that whichever happens to show up so far, to do the gold trophies for scars. I still like Knight for being honest boi.

While I try to play around with every class, I've found Astromancer to be the strongest. The weapon is great against bosses since you can set it down then focus on evasion. The talent is a great mix of invulnerability and mobility while also dealing some damage. The passive also gives a whopping +20% intelligence along with some extra mana regen, making them even better spellcasters than wizards.

I love Chef, but can see the value in most classes (aside from Bard and Pirate). Personally really like Barbarian and Gunslinger recently, and see the most success on them. A few runs ago had a Vampire Gunslinger that was a lot of fun.

eh, Chef is good but isn't an automatic pick for me. I like most of the classes in one way or another

I like the chef but the slow swing speed can be frustrating. i find myself gravitating towards the rapier, standard sword, and the double blades as I go into NG+. Valk spear is good too.

The waiter seems really good when you get used to aiming.

Valkyrie is really good, I like boxer a lot too

Assassin and gunslinger are completely broken if you get the updates for combo or poison accumulations. And the ronin mobility thanks to its talent makes it probably the best melee class in my opinion.

assassin, knight, valkyrie, barbarian are all really strong melee options. I don't really play ranged classes so can't speak for them.
