Unable to solve echo boots challenge...

I am stuck trying to solve the echo boots challenge. I eventually can get to the top of this room with four red motes, and echo thing, and a tube-portal thing that goes up and is surrounded by wall on the sides. The way the pipe is walled in means that when I get to the top, it is impossible to spin kick off the red-mote-shots I trigger at the bottom of the pipe.
All examples I find of this challenge online show a different layout, so I assume the level was updated and changed...
Does anyone know how to solve this part of the echo boots challenge???

I did it the day before yesterday just fine. Spin kick off the echo wall lamp (triggering the nightmares to shoot), immediatly go into the pipe and immediatly spin kick when coming out of the pipe at the top to hit the nightmares shots.

This might be a bit much to ask, but would it be possible to provide a video of what's occurring for you? Or maybe, with fast hands, a screenshot of the end part where it shows the projectiles separating too far to spin-kick off of?

Worst case scenario, you can go into House Rules and enable flight. I think you can actually bring the Icarus Wings Bargain into these challenges to the same effect if you feel House Rules are "cheating".
