You need to use your ability twice to be able to get it in under 25 for the gold.
And yeah, you need to be aware that shooting arrows while standing on the ivy platform gives your arrows a spore burst explosion.
I found this out kinda late in my attempts. Does it happen during the main game or JUST this scar? There should be some indication that this is the intended (and definitely necessary) solution to getting gold in this one.
This isn't explicitly stated anywhere, but I think the idea was for most players to hit a brick wall, and instead of giving up, they start looking a lot harder at what they could be doing better, and going "oh. I haven't even used my Talent or Spell yet. I totally forgot I even had those."

It's clumsy looking but it did the trick.
The fact it gives spore burst to attacks is clearly listed on the ability description for ivy platform.
However spore burst is not AOE attacks it is a status effect that causes enemies to explode, either on death or after a timer goes down. For targets they only have 1 hp though.
