About the Charon Scythe's auto-dash
It's more of a personal take, since I'm not a big fan of weapons that do this.

Since Rogue Legacy is a game with contact damage (with some exceptions), dancing around enemies without touching them becomes a must, and a weapon that forces you to dash headfirst towards an enemy to hit them seems a bit counter productive.

I know that you can cancel the forward momentum with a dash, but still, the weapon becomes way too unwieldly in practice, causing you to take damage if you aren't careful enough (which may be by design, I don't know), and it's even more dangerous since you're using it with a frail class (mage).

Wouldn't the weapon become more enjoyable if we could swing it while standing still, like the Dragon Lancer? Maybe tone down it's damage if it becomes too spammable like this.

On a side note, the new Bard fabled weapon is really fun to use (the guitar sound effect is a bit meh though).

Along with claws, scythes are my favorite type of weapon in games, so I'm a bit bummed that I won't be using it like this.

It can be a bit unwieldy in small rooms for sure, if you don't have much room to maneuver. But all Fabled Weapons have noticeable drawbacks. Plenty of rooms where I can barely hit anything with the Enkindled Gauntlets, and God help me get Skill Crits with the new Spoon.

How I've been using the Scythe is more of an aerial style, where you jump and slice across the top (or bottom) of an enemy, only to turn around mid-air and do it back the other way. It does a lot of damage, and most enemies die in 2 attacks for me.

In short, charging head-on with the Scythe isn't the way to use it, even if that's your immediate impulse. The Scythe hits twice with one button press, so if you're only clipping an enemy by charging at them on the ground, you're going to do less damage and make yourself more vulnerable.

What's suppose to be the drawback of the Pizza? Because I've yet to find it.

I'd say it's like the Spoon in that it's pretty tough to get Skill Crits, as it only crits on returning, and in order for it to keep critting you have to spin kick off it while trying to angle it so it hits other enemies. Not really a drawback so much as a very high skill cap.

See, that's why I always try to get the Boxing Bell with it. Makes quick work of any boss if you can keep the combo maxed, which is super easy to do with the pizza.

First time I got to try out the Scythe was on a Gigantuan Duelist... it was hilarious.
basically covered most of the vertical space for a swing.... and maybe its bugged, but I would constantly get 2 crits on everything that survived the first (if i was in the air)
as was pointed out; you really want to use it above or below an enemy,
Its hard to picture the guarenteed double crits 100% of the time is not bugged... but i'll take guarenteed crits XD

Still not the perfect thing for me, but I'll try out the aerial playstyle next time!

Tried the skythe - everything was nice, I was slashing heads and feet left and right. Until I bumped into Irad - literally, I bumped into him like 20 times and killed myself. Not good.

The next was Knight with a pizza. Destroyed that three-eyed punk losing only 500 HP.

This was NG+6 or 7.

What you need to realize about Charon's Scythe is that it has a MASSIVE hitbox below and above it. (Just like Spinkick)
You can go alternating left to right above or below and enemy constantly dealing damage without loosing altitude.

Its main flaws are the same as Ballista. (Mobility)
It seems on the surface to be a high mobility weapon but anything that moves/takes up vertical space (bullets) limits what the scythe can be effective at as it limits the weapons damage window.

When I want a "grounded" attack, instead of dashing out of the attack, I always jump -> attack -> spin kick

Scythe is actually my new favorite weapon. With how large the swipes are you can easily go over or under things while still killing them.
And they also allow seemingly limitless 'flight' which has helped me on several of the fairy puzzles that usually need specific classes to complete like the large open room that requires a barbarian or bard shout.
I got it for the first time on a valk and wanted to test it out. It definitely made the bosses harder, unfortunately.
