Resetting soul shop?
Is this possible? I planned poorly and now have some buyers remorse; ended up running out of loops to farm soul stones. I also cleaned out all the challenges and dialogues :(

UPDATE: Although this is not the same as a "respec", I was lucky enough to find that my oldest backup save (Shift+B on the main menu) still had barely enough souls to collect for the final equipment upgrade. Yay.

You got the Dragon's 500 souls right?

As far as the manor goes, I remember it being the last time we get a complete reset.
If we get new skills in it, they'll probably be added (or replace the temporary "bridges" skill). Don't quote me on that (and things can change).

As for the soul shop, if the devs can make a sort of respec/reset, they'll add it for sure, too many people have been asking for it. The question is: is it possible easily, and won't it end up being too expensive for them?

Too expensive for whom? For the devs? Not likely, given the need for the feature.

For the players? Well, that's adjustable. Give it a hefty gold cost to avoid abuse (if that is even necessary), and you are good to go.

A new player is heavily punished by experimentation (= "play"!) in the soul shop in the current state. Punishing experimentation/play is bad for a game, so I am reasonably confident they will fix this issue by the next update.

NG+? You will get more souls from defeating all the bosses over again.

OP mentioned they have no more NG cycles left to get more soul.

It's expensive programming wise. Not only do they need to determine a fair mechanic, the actual implication means that players could lose progress in tower/shop/charon/levels. So you have to program in refunds for each element affected individually, and then what if someone accidentally enters the levels without spending, do they lose 10millions of gold? Should Charon levels even give refunds? It's a major headache to implement.

My main complaint with the system is that you're forced to choose Str or Int. With the 10 level cap I thought I'd be able to max both and have some fun mage characters, but with a 50 cap it's unrealistic that I'll ever get magic dmg to catch up to physical.

Actually, The best thing they could do is just let progress get erased rather than having a cost to reroll. IE: If you want to take a part out of gear, next time you level up, you'll have to find all that +5 armor gear. That's sufficent penalty without restricting freedom. Plus it's easier to code.

I don't think STR and INT should be separate soultree's though. Runes and armor sets are sufficient for making a mage/melee style per run. Either combine STR and INT to a 400soulstone group or maybe split str+int and crit/spellcrit trees.

What is the current thread cap in this release? I just hit NG+10, which the wiki says is the cap as of 0.5.2, did they raise it again?

Also, what actually is that last unlockable thing in the Soul Shop? What does it do and how much does it cost? I need to buy three more items to see for myself, apparently.

Max NG atm is 20.

Last upgrade increases the cap on many soul shop upgrades. For ex you can get gear +9 and up to 10 runes, and the stat upgrade go to 50 I think (have yet to unlock it myself)

Oh wow, that changes everything. Thanks.

For those wondering, I did get all the souls people suggested. I made this thread because I'm 100 short of the final +9 upgrade on gear :')

Ouch, that does suck. Does seem like maxing gear would be the thing to go for. You'll be able to get it right away from beating final boss 20 times in a row on release, but would be nice to have it now!

Do the last five gear upgrades cost 300 each? More?
Gnodab Oct 9, 2021 @ 8:01pm
Each Equipment upgrade after +4 costs 1050 Souls each =) Plan accordingly.

Hah, well, looks like I can maybe afford getting max gear upgrade and nothing else, then. Thanks for the heads up.

Each upgrade doesn't do a whole lot stat-wise, and it also increases weight fyi. I'm aiming for +6 as that allows up to two 100 Unity bonuses active at once. You have to go to +9 to get 3.
