Dwarfism…………
So, devs. Where has it gone? Why is it so rare? I have been playing on a new character for about 3 days now. I’ve beaten all the bosses, golded all other scars, and am halfway through a NG+1 run. I still have yet to see dwarfism, and am still unable to access the pizza mundi scar(I’d gotten it on my last character before dwarfism became so freakin rare). In fact, on this character with 30+ generations I have yet to see dwarfism, gigantism, ectomorph, or endomorph. Why are these so rare? On top of not being able to get the scar, it also makes some secrets inaccessible, takes away some of the hidden rooms, and makes the character selection screen just plain boring. What gives? Come to think of it, in 30+ generations, I’ve only seen colorblind twice, nostalgic once, synesthesia once, and most other traits only a couple of times or so. What the heck happened to the RNG for the traits. It’s hella bad!

Now that you mention it. I don't remember seeing one since 0.5 either. They seem to be way too rare indeed.

Have played dwarf twice yesterday so it exist still

As the trait pool increases, the odds of getting something specific keeps dropping. We might look into tweaking the odds system in a future update to make it more consistent, or we might look into changing how that Scar is earned.

Could just remove the dwarf requirement from squeezing through the crack. It's interesting enough that the crack is a hidden door.

Give the choice to buy additional options for the array of presented characters: 4, then 5, then 6. Charge through the nose, maybe 50k for the first, 150k for the second, and 500k for the third.

And then give the choice to buy extra options in the relic rooms, since extra relics make preferred ones less frequent. 50k to get a third, 150k to get a fourth, 500k to get a fifth.

We're not saying it doesn't exist, we're saying it can be extremely rare to get now.

Maybe the physical traits, visual traits, and statistical traits could be separate, and there's a 10% chance for a trait from any of the three trait trees. If it does choose that category, it then chooses one from that category.

Then there could even be a small(1%) chance of having a color blind dwarf, or a nostalgic giant. Lol. And, there would even be at .1% chance of having 3 traits! Imagine.

I FINALLY got dwarfism after getting halfway through NG+2!!!

Just have a cumulative chance of getting xyz every run if it does not show up. Ether a flat % or have that trait count as +1 on the rng table so as an example, if not present 5 runs, dwarfism would be worth 5 trait slots on the rng table, meaning 5 times more likely to be pulled up.

Use to do coding for things like this all the time years ago, this is like an afternoon task at best even with testing.

I have not yet gotten a single dwarfchar.

I think Giant and Dwarf should get exclusive treatment since they are such "important" traits, and either be in a pool of their own,
or have their percentages adjusted slightly over the "normal traits"

I hope they gradually add a weight to dwarfism over time, like 'hey there have been 15 runs and no dwarfism, lets give a +50% for one of the characters in the pool to have the dwarfism trait so they stop retiring runs and rerolling repeatedly'

They removed the requirement! I just did it with a normal ronin I just used the interact button!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your memory is insane! You remember not seeing 4 specific traits over 30 generations, seeing one of them once, another twice, another once, and then a bunch more a couple times. Are you using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spreadsheet or is this just going off memory? Cuz that's insane... you should try some of those memory tests, I bet you'd score very very high.
