Mastery, I'd go easy, as it seems that, again, castle upgrades might be more worth it.
It all comes down to souls spent vs stat points & bonus received. I bought 5 levels of it, holding on buying more until I see where I'm at.
Keep in mind that since each level costs more, it doesn't take long before it's worth it to buy the cheaper stuff than to try to get one more expensive upgrade.
I really want to max out the Manor upgrades, but I can't scrounge up the remaining 6,750 souls for it! D: I already cleared all scars on Gold, and I am on NG+9. I'm in for a world of hurt
For now. They'll add more scars, more bosses (as soon as biome 6 boss is added, if you kill it on NG+9, you'll instantly get all souls from previous NG), and unlock the NG eventually.
They may add more relationship events too.
I agree that stat manor upgrades are more important, but I would not neglect mastery and charons charity completely. Keep in mind that they cost more souls the more souls you already spent on the same kind of upgrade. So prioritizing other things is good, but at least put a few points into charity before other things are maxed.
And each upgrade only increase the cap by 1 if I'm not wrong. That's "only" 5 stat points. Even the cheapest level have a hard time competing with the more expensive castle upgrades that increase the cap on several skills by several levels.
I'm not buying the sub-classes or the class lock, nor the burden reduction so I'll eventually buy it, but not until I find the other skills too expensive.
Since in the future there will be tier 3 upgrades for int and str, you will get even more stats from the manor, charity should get a buff later on.
With mastery it is closer. still manor upgrades are much better, but I think you reach a point where it is worth it to skill into it earlier, especially when there are more classes in the future.
Edit: I thought charity is half the price. But apperantly the initial price is the same, it just goes up more slowly. Then it indeed might even not be worth it to purchase the first 1 before maxing the manor.
