Any way to get this fairy chest without Hermes Boots?
There's a fairy chest that sits there on top of a bunch of spikes. That's it, nothing else going on it's just sitting there on floor spikes. (I'll see if I can figure out how to add a screenshot, never posted before). The only way I can see to get it is to have the Hermes boots relic and maybe use a ranger's ivy canopy. Is there something I'm not thinking of?

4. Roll as the duelist and during the I frames open the chest.
5. Same as the duelist but for the knight.

I can confirm that Duelist's roll work, I managed it.
Knight's solution shouldn't work because a Shield's perfect block doesn't protect from the hit but from its damage (same as Coeus), so you'd fail the challenge. Haven't tested this one specifically, but others, it did.

One way to make this challenge less class-specific would be to change the requirement from "not getting hit" to "not getting hurt".
That way, on top of Hermes' Boots, Coeus' Shell and Lotus Stem would also work. And Knight's Shield too.

You guys also forgot the Mother Of All Talents when it comes to Fairy Challenges:
Assassin's Cloak.

So to recap, confirmed ways to get it:
- Hermes' Boots
- Ranger's Ivy Canopy
- Duelist's Roll
- Assassin's Cloak

I've been curious about the design philosophy for Fairy Chests, as some of them are straight up impossible to get unless you have very specific abilities or relics. Perhaps it's intended, but the thing is they're so rare that when you encounter them they feel like an anomaly.

There's another Fairy Chest setup where you have to hit targets at the end of the room, but if you lack the proper spells or any ranged abilities, you can't do the challenge at all. Feels weird.

To address your issue, afaik you need Hermes Boots to get that chest, as you can't interact with it at all unless you're standing on the same level as the chest.

You can 1. Use hermes boots
2. place the archer platform below you.
3. Maybe slow down using the gun slinger? Never tried it, but it might work maybe.
4. Roll as the duelist and during the I frames open the chest.
5. Same as the duelist but for the knight.
6... let me think about a six real quick.

If you have extra jump(s), then you can jump over there, hit the target, then jump and dash back. Not sure how many dashes/jump you need to do it.

I feel like Rogue Legacy 1 was worse with many fairy chests being unobtainable without certain traits (often dwarfism IIRC). Rogue Legacy 2 has a lot that benefit from certain abilities, but few that absolutely require specific things and often there are a couple of ways to get those that are not possible to do with all setups.

It's rare but there's a Fairy Chest where there's a wall between you and the targets that only projectiles can go through. So you HAVE to have the right spell or class or you're just out of luck.

Gunslinger probably doesn't work for the same reason that you can't just time it well: You can't interact with chests while mid-air. Knight also doesn't work, the challenge is "Don't get hit" not "Take no damage", and that distinction is important for the Knight's Shield.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
