I don't favor classes but choose heirs based on which of the three seems the most interesting/useful. This time it was barbarian. I also hadn't unlocked Echo kicks yet and had explored all of the Citadel. So going for the boss was all I had left. That's when I decided to backtrack and grab all 3 rings thinking "why not ?".
Funnily enough, I managed to beat Echo's challenge with this same barbarian. Must have been a lucky streak. He's also still alive with 2 rings left since I stopped playing midway through.
For bosses though you usually have no health reg, your initial health pool (and armor) is everything you have. Barbarian can survive longer while having a shorter fight than most classes as he also deals a lot of damage.
The second one I used Valkyrie
The third was burnt into a crisp by the Chef
Funnily enough, it's now official, I've beat all 3 estuaries using a Barbarian. It's mostly thanks to his spinning attack and high damage. He might be a bit OP (or more likely, I'm just bad with other classes).
