How long in Early Access?
Do the devs know how long, roughly, the early-access period will be? Or is this a "until it's ready" situation?

"Roughly" one year. This is our first time putting a game on Early Access, so who knows what will happen. We have been working on this game for two years already though, so we have a pretty solid infrastructure that will hopefully allow us to churn out content in a consistent manner.

Got it. Thank you for the swift reply! Very excited to see RL2 out in the wild.

Why risk it though. I'm so sick and tired of all these early accesses

Then... don't buy it? I don't see what the big deal is.

It's playable in early access, isn't it? That means it's out. The same way Risk of Rain 2 came out ages ago. Tons of people are already playing it, but the final level hasn't been added yet. It'll be the same with Rogue Legacy 2.

Again, if you just have a phobia of early access games (which would be funny considering the game we're discussing), just wait for it to leave early access.

The problem with players who hate on ea is that they are so much self-entitled that they think they deserve a finished, polished, bug free game right on start. Even without ea, it never occurs. People have forgotten what it is to be patient, or what it is to participate in building something, which is the point of early access. Also remember, even developpers have to eat...

What risk? Early access is beneficial to both players and devs.

The main issue with early access is that some devs abuse it to make easy money from players and then don't deliver. But that doesn't apply here, we know this developer is very trustworthy.

For a good few minutes I thought you were talking about EA the company and was like "when did anyone compare anything to EA in this thread...?" Made so much more sense when I realized you meant early access, and nobody would ever defend EA the company for any reason.
