2. level them up to 30.

Or I am doing something wrong O.o?!?!
go look at the wiki. check the mine maps.
it's in mine 1, the 3 area, near the upper left, you need a ladder to get to it. it's in "1st layer, uneven bedrock"
but even then, it only generates 2 clay per strike, and sometimes generates coal instead of clay, AND has a long regeneration time.
it is definitely the case that they wanted to make clay the limiting factor in finishing the bridge-building chapter. first, 30 bricks for a nameplate for the carpenter's house, then I am sure the bridge itself will need bricks too.
not sure finishing this is worth the time. I just spent a full day JUST to get halfway to building the carpenter's house.
shorter: your OP is absolutely correct. the limit on clay is absolutely ridiculous.
So for clay demand would be much better to fight mobs for the drops instead of waiting the regeneration time.
they should just add dedicated clay mining points that work just like all the other mining points. unecessary delays is what breaks a game. I doubt I will bother finishing this. not worth the time.
To tell you the truth, I start doing some missions there too but as I notice that there are a lot more missions left behind - which one of them has a time period - I want to do those before hand because Mining Village missions has lot of "farming" style, so it is lower in my "To Do" list but still it intrigues me to finish it ^_^
you were the one looking for a way to speed up clay acquisition.
:P
and...I am not the one who was looking a way to speed up clay acquisition, OP is
p.s. Here is a "reward" for your above post because I found it funny - IN A GOOD WAY - please don't take it wrong ^_^
That's also where I stopped the Time Mine myself. I got already like, everything done I think besides the whole Coal gathering.
It is really ridiculous.
bad design decisions in that.
Without Miners in Party
5 clays out of 10 battles (5 of those battles gave me 1 clay each)
With 3 Miners in Party
6 clays out of 10 battles (2 of those battles gave me 1 clay each and other 2 of those battles gave 2 clays each)
I am not good with maths but I think Ichthyic you are right on having miners in team, you get 1 clay drop more. So anyone can do their math to find out how many battles may need to get the amount of clays for bricks, etc.
p.s. Ichthyic, I deeply apologies if in case I offended you in any way with my above posts (it wasn't intended :/ ), just wanted to cheer up the mood in here a little ^_^;
Edit: Just now one of my battles with 2 Dark Slugs in, I got 2 clay drops so maybe it is random 1-2 clays per x battles
