Plus they announced event archive thing in JP version, it has skip function but apparently not the first time you play those. So it's double confirmation that skip function is not coming in the near future.
Near future, yeah.
However, the archive even existing, is a point towards skip being added AT SOME POINT to the game at large. Because there's so many cutscenes that making us tap through them shouldn't affect the monetization scheme so much anymore (no skip --> more time in game --> more gacha exposure), and if we skip, we can at least revisit in the archive if we desire.
That's cool.
I play games for the game part. I read books for story. I only play games that are fun to play, not interesting reads.
Well, apparently, they'd be doing better with it, as I uninstalled.
No I'm pretty sure they don't need your non-spending, same as they don't need mine. They're at least profitable enough in Japan for several major updates a year.
I'm in my 40s. I spend a ton of games because I can. Why don't you? I like how you are arguing for a game you supposedly like to have less players and make less money. ANyone who doesn't want to skip can just not. It has zero impact on you, but would allow a whole new audience to at least try the game and see if they like it rather than just uninstalling. I'm having a very hard time understanding your point here.
I have over 1k video games, spending any more feels more like a waste every year. Almost all my spending on gacha games has been a couple months of 'sub' to Genshin Impact and a couple battle passes.
I LIKE Another Eden. I could also provide you a large list of complaints I have about it that keep me from not LOVING it, only parts of it (especially its updates' soundtracks; they're sweet).
I wouldn't mind if skip existed. And it will in future updates, for story replay and certain content. In fact, with story replay being added, that's further reason to add it to the game at large, since anyone interested can revisit story at their own time. Obviously the biggest reason WFS keeps players from skipping is to pad gametime, thus player psychological investment, thus likelihood to pull gacha. I don't love it. I only laugh at the idea of a player of a RPG having it as one of their lines in the sand.
And it is a great spiritual sequel to that and Cross with tons of single player RPG content. This version has come with a few "half baked port" problems compared to the mobile version, but they will fix those eventually (except the Japanese voices of the collab characters, sadly) like how in the mobile version sometimes japanese slips through and they fix that later. I still remember when the game came out some of us found out a late story meal was untranslated and they fixed it next patch.
Well, don't come to a turn based JRPG expecting little text... also, why not both?
Its a gacha game, story its not that great to begin with, also I have to catch up with years of content so I want to skip cutscenes, fight fast and listen to a youtube recap while I'm grinding.
Also, RPG lets you explore and make choices, this is FFXIII.
