Over Priced?
I have had this on my wish list for quite some time, I believe I would enjoy picking this up. I can't see getting 30 dollars worth out of it though. Maybe 20 if it was finished but more likely from reading the reviews seems like a 15 dollar buy in seems fair.

I was always of the mind set I would rather sell 1 million copies for a dollar each then 1 copy for 100k.

I see good reviews, but for those that bought it, is it really worth 30 how many hours did you play it before you put it down?

The game is fun and is good representation of the old WWF arcade game. I do enjoy playing it, just the replay value is not there as much as I would like.

Release date was February of 2021. We are still waiting for two wrestlers promised at launch. Closing in on 3 years! I barely play anymore. You are correct that in it's current state it is a $20 game at best. It has a lot of promise, just not there yet.

I suggest waiting to buy it until it is on sale or an update happens. With what the devs say is coming it may be more worth it soon. I have about 34 hours of game play. Most being in the first few weeks, then some more when Chris Bey was added.

I had this game on my wish list for years and when it finally got a 50% off discount I picked it up as I think it is okay at $15 plus after this long I do not think they will give it a bigger discount for a while so it felt like the right time to buy it. Just keep an eye out for the sales as they have done 2 sales for it at 50% off now with the last being in June so it might have another soon.

I agree with Darkness Muta; it's a fun game, but it needs more content. The devs keep promising and promising that the next update is going to drop soon. I check back once a week only to be disappointed. They've been saying the update is "coming soon" for 5 months now. After the update drops they're supposed to announce 1 more update with more wrestlers and features (hopefully tag belts), but considering how long this has taken we're looking at another 2 or 3 years before that update drops.

This update is supposed to have a lot of content, but honestly I would've taken the tag belts over a lot of the other stuff. I don't really "play" the game; I like to sim matches and let the little digital guys beat each other up. To have another belt to play for would add a lot to the game in my opinion.

This game is WAYYY overprice and they release 1 character every few years. So IMHO just get FIRE PRO WRESTLING WORLD, much better game by FAR

On steam charts at the moment of writing this there is not 1 single player playing this game right now. Player count = 0 That alone should tell you if it's good or not, Just pass this up

Wrestlefest was propably my fav aracade back in the day. I had this game on wishlist for quite some time but i always hesitate to buy as there arent any wrestlers that i know and its a letdown. In the same time i also hate the official WWE games. Expensive, complicated and a buggy mess. I just want something like that, thats easy to play and have fun. Maybe WWE would open their eyes and offer these guys a deal to license a few of their wrestlers. That would be huge and a great alternative to casual gamers like me that dont want/dont have the time to play a wrestling "simulation"... Macmahons open your eyes to this little gem and give us what we want!:steammocking:

If I may offer my opinion - I felt the same way when I 1st purchased this game. I knew Hawk and Animal, and they were actually the tag team you had to fight as the final boss in WrestleFest; but beyond those two guys I only vaguely knew a couple others - Blue Meanie, but only because he was in WWF WM2000 and Tommy Dreamer (by name only because I didn't watch ECW). I think I loaded the game up one time when I bought it, played it for 10 minutes or so and then didn't load it back up for about a year. One day I saw it in my library and there was an update with Chris Bey and I was like "Oh yeah, I forgot about this game", so I loaded it up and played it for a little while and I was having fun. It plays a lot like WrestleFest, and looks a helluva lot like it. I don't really "play" wrestling games, per se; I prefer to sim matches - let the AI characters beat each other up. Fortunately for me this game allows that. As for the roster, most of the names come from the indie wrestling scene. I don't even watch mainstream wrestling, much less indie wrestling. The thing is, I started to realize something - I was actually having more fun setting up matches with these quirky characters than I do using all the same old faces from the WWE. I've come to prefer a wrestling game full of unfamiliar names. Warhorse quickly became my go to character - he had an 80's look to him that I liked. The other 2 announced characters in the next update are, of course, James Storm and Mr. Hughes. I'd heard of James Storm, and he seemed like another good character to add, but Mr. Hughes didn't really do anything for me...that is until I got into the beta for the update. Mr. Hughes is awesome. He has a handful of heel moves.

Now the game is still lacking a few things that I hope gets remedied in a future update or DLC. The tag team belts are sorely missing, as well as a couple more real tag teams. I've heard that those should be coming later. More wrestlers would be a welcome addition, and I've heard that they have a few names signed - it's just a matter of when. I would also like to see a 3rd belt - whether it's the Hardcore belt or a more generic title like United States Champ or TV Title or the Intercontinental belt. I would vote for the Hardcore belt, but I would be open to any of them. It would just be cool to have another belt for the characters to have another belt to fight for. Beyond that it would be really nice to have a tournament mode like a King of the Ring.

One final feature I would like to see added is the ability to pick which wrestlers I want in the Retro Rumble. I oftentimes use it for whoever wins gets a shot at the Title Belt. More often than not the current champ ends up fighting in the RR, and on more than just a few occasions the current champ has won the damn RR. When there are only 17 wrestlers (19 once the other 2 get added) the odds of the champ not being 1 of the 16 aren't very good lol! IDK how difficult it would be to allow the player to select all 16 contestants.

That's really all I want at this point. People kept clamoring for things that were never going to happen. This was always supposed to be a sequel to WrestleFest, an arcade wrestling game. As such, there wasn't supposed to be much depth to the game - just a bunch of fast arcade action. There were people begging for a create-a-wrestler mode, which was never in the plans for this game. Then there were those asking for a season mode and GM mode. Again, this was meant as a pick-up-and-play sort of game - an arcade game.

Anyway, I hope my personal opinion of the game is helpful to you. It's a lot of fun and I feel like too many people aren't giving it a chance because it doesn't have this feature or that feature and it doesn't have your favorite wrestler. The game is only $30 and it frequently goes on sale for half price at $15. $15 for this game is a steal. Pick it up. Play it, Have fun.

Agreed, i will buy it one day but only when the price is right.

Yeah, it does say something. About you. It's hilariously sad when people really weigh their options when it comes to $15, as if that's an amount of money that could never be replaced. But I guess grandma only gives you Christmas money once a year.

No I would rather spend 15-20 on something I will play for hours and hours and get a better return on my investment. I know for a fact I would play this for an hour maybe two and be done especially in its current state. Maybe boot it up once every two years for an hour and that's it.

I bought Icarus while on sale for 23 bones and have already a ridonk amount of hours in it.

I can wait till they add more and the pricing matches the product.

Lawls you think I am some poor kid that can't afford it, bless your heart.

I played this a ton on the iiRcade before I sold it; so much was promised and still not delivered...I know it's a small team. It needs online play and the updates that were mentioned a year, or more, ago. I feel the hype for this game is long gone.

I don't really care about online play, but I 100% agree that it needs the content that was promised. If they ever officially release the current update that was said to be "coming soon" April 3 of last year, there is supposed to be another update with like 4 (maybe more?) wrestlers and I think the tag belts. Hell, at this point I just want those damn tag belts. No, strike that, I NEED those tag belts.

It's impossible to take anyone seriously who uses the word "lawls" in any capacity.
