Manually release a pin?
I have been playing with Jeff Cobb and I find that I keep ending matches before I’d like because some of his moves (including maybe one of his reversals?) automatically result in a pin. Is there any way to manually release a pin? I’ve been trying to hit the Tour of the Islands but haven’t been able to because I either lose or win from a pin I didn’t mean to initiate. Thanks for the help.

I would like to see an option for this. I am not sure how it would work but I often mistakenly pin when I don't want to from mashing the medium button too much. I also had a similar thing with Nick Saber going into his submission move early in the match when I knew it wouldn't work.

The way they could to it is press the pin button (X) again to release.

Maybe by pressing and holding the pin button? You stand up. It would be even cooler if we add an animation to pull a wrestler up into a headlock all in one motion.

Yeah, I think that would definitely work! Thanks for replying and for looking into my feedback. I am having a blast with the game. As I'm getting better and better, it's getting more and more satisfying. By the way, Jeff Cobb's Tour of the Islands looks awesome :)

thanks man! And that is my favorite move in the game! It is just really satisfying to me every time I do it.

I'd like to raise the severity of this request a bit. Not being able to release a pin is a pretty big issue in fatal four way or tornado tag matches. I've lost 2 matches where there were two pins happening simultaneously and I couldn't release my pin to break up my opponents.

I think it would make sense to map this action to the taunt button. It could even trigger a quick animation where you pull your opponents shoulders off the mat like you are toying with him. I don't think going to a headlock in one motion would be a good idea as that would still lead to not being able to break up an opponents pin in fatal four way or tornado tags.

Really happy with the game so far, thanks for taking the time to answer and for being receptive to feedback.

This is a great point. Yeah the fatal 4 way in 10lbs mode is the hardest match in the game and probably more frustrating then it should be.

I will check with my lead programmer and see. Adding the animation would take a little time, but I think the pin release and just standing up would not.

And I guess taunt makes sense. But I was thinking using the pin button would be more intuitive?

I like the taunt button for the unpin. I could imagine accidentally hitting the medium button when mashing on a legitimate pin. Also how would this work in a tag team match when you are controlling the partner not in the pin?

Another good point. Programmatically that could get tricky. Need to think about that one

My animation idea isn't really needed, it was just a way to justify assigning it to the taunt button. I think a button press would be better than a button hold as there would be more of a delay in releasing with a button hold. I think the tag button could also be used, that would solve Ed G's tag match scenario.

Yeah, there is so much weight to it. It’s just so satisfying.

I made the Tour of the Islands in Fire Pro Wrestling World and I think it came out pretty good, but yours looks infinitely better.

Thanks again for everything you’re doing.
