Do you need Shan?

For the most part one uses Shan for all but read carefully.

Shan will appear early in the game and offer you the use of "her" home. Take it! It is yours throughout the game. Loading the food vault and chest here will globally fill any you build later.

Next Shan will ask you to help build a bridge. Do it! That unlocks the next map.

Next Shan will give you a key to a locked gate. This unlocks the Ruins map.

Next Shan will hint that you need to restore power to the ruins. Do that! This will unlock Housing Island Map once you repair the boat (docked at the ruins)

Your best bet is to craft the very best tools for yourself and your AI's.
There are three levels of tools (except fishing rod) and the best is what you need for the good treasures.
You need a medicine table to craft cures for your AI.
You need to explore all maps to uncover the treasures hidden within.
You need to stock your kitchen and chest with as much food and collectables as possible.
There is no limit to what you can put in the chest or how much you can store in food vault
but there is a limit to what you can carry.

Beyond what Shan gives you freely, you do not need Shan for anything else. She is a Pirate and will swindle you out of your horde for the most basic neccesities.

Once you are better established in the game you can craft a "Recycler" with will award you with many different and new items. Just add your surplus stuff to the recycler, it will transform it to something different and very likey more efficient.

About homesteads (Base)

A floor with roof section is plenty to keep your AI dry. No need for walls, doors, or windows.
Three sections of floor with roof give you area for
kitchen/dining, chest.
bath/toilet/dresser/sink
bed/chair/massage mat (this is used for bed if more AI)
This leaves an opening on a basic homestead for plants/well/medicine table/recycler


Every homestead needs a well, small plot of land for raising food, medicine, fishing lure.
Every homestead needs a toilet with sink (hand washing) bathtub, or shower, and dresser or hamper.
Every homestead needs a kitchen oven food valut, kitchen table, at least one chair, and one bed. toilet, handwashing sink, dresser or hamper,

Forget about sex toys sex furniture televisions, computers, game consoles, etc.. the AI never use them on their own accord. Dance Foors and Dance Poles rarely get used by the AI and best installed on Housing Island when you get there and have plenty to work with.

AI girls love pets but never play with them, ever! They do not collect chicken eggs nor populate the chicken coop. The AI may get trapped inside a Chicken Coop but that is about it.

AI girls never collect farm items but they do water the fields even if nothing is growing there.

AI girls do fish and collect treasures for your chest.
