ScrewThisNoise or ManlyKloc?
With the current discount, I guess I'll give the game a chance. But I'm not sure yet if i should play it with or without mods. After what I found out there two packs (ScrewThisNoise or ManlyKloc).

Whats the difference and are there any recommendations or is the official patch quite enough?

Principle I do not use torrents. Are there other ways besides patreon?

The first one also includes (some) DLCs. Just use the newest version of either HF Patch or the repack thingy. Surely some mods are different. But in the end it doesn't matter since you can install mods and plugins for yourself.

Both are basically mod packs, so they include mods, plugins and such. The official patch is just that: a little patch to bring the cut content back. So no mods, plugins, ... game is still censored (mosaic).

No idea about the repack, but in the HF Patch Patreon you can pay $5 to get direct download links.

btw, the torrents (at least the HF Patch one) is not illegal, since it's provided by the HF Patch author himself. It doesn't include the game, so nothing bad will happen. :-)

Right now I'm downloading the BetterRepack R5 for Ai Shoujo from ScrewThisNoise, but it isn't for the Steam version.

I find this game to be relaxing, because it is literally just an adult version of the Sims, but its pricey. As for mods, ManlyKloc charges 5$ for mods that don't work. I haven't tried ScrewThisNoise, but I have a feeling that it is also a scam. You can download an HF patch from the developers themselves, but it does not offer much. The threads I have seen for STN's patch is that it is not available for Steam's version

Again: The HF Patch is FREE. You only need to pay if you want direct download links. The torrent is free. Oh, and the HF Patch works fine.

There is also a steam version. It's called SR5.

I would play the game more like an adult Sims with survival elements. Am I right?
Additionally the character editor will keep me busy for hours (I spent hours alone in the editor of BD). The modpacks would only be a nice bonus.

Does anyone have experience with the survival part?

The game is very light on survival elements.
You've got to craft things from stuff to build better things, and to collect ingredients to make drugs to cure conditions and collect more ingredients to make sure there is enough food in the storage so the girl(s) won't complain about starving ... But they forage and fish on their own and usually get by themselves. I never felt threatened of dying of anything.
You mostly collecting stuff to build better things ; or to have something to barter with the shopkeeper....
