WOW that's stunning. I hope to see you guys do a combat flight simulator one day though. I'd love to fly a F-15E.
Just go for DCS. It's exactly designed for that

Creating and maintaining a competent, worldwide flight simulator is an ENORMOUS undertaking.

I've so far gotten more than 3,000 hours of use out of MSFS 2020. Divided into what I originally paid for the game that comes out to, what, 3 cents per hour?

In that context, so long as the new 2024 will allow us to keep and use the add-on airports, aircraft and other add-ons that we may have purchased through the in-game Marketplace, I feel like it is VERY fair to ask us to spend a bit to buy 2024 and keep the franchise fresh and growing.

I know it would be nice to get it for free. But have you looked into programmer and designer salaries lately? They have to be paid if we want them to keep working on products that we want to have.

And from the reports of the upcoming 2024, I suspect that millions will want to have it.

I hope the "career modes" that they promote are as open-ended and replayable as those already available from third-party developers (who, unfortunately, don't seem to be marketing those products through the in-game Marketplace, at least not yet).

The "replayability" and variety of the upcoming "career modes" is the only thing I'm even slightly nervous about when it comes to the new sim. I hope they don't think that a few "missions" in a few "specialties" are an actual "career mode." An actual career mode allows continuous growth, the accumulation of assets and experience, and ever-increasing variety -- like an actual career.

I think that there are already some interesting and possibly very good "career mode" products out there for purchase -- but for a number of what I consider good reasons, I will only purchase add-ons through the in-game Marketplace, and so far I haven't been able to get them that way.

It's a pity. I think there are likely many others. like me, who might leap to buy such products if only we didn't have to use some third party source and could just buy them (and conveniently keep track of them) through the Marketplace.

Fully agree, I would also like to have all free as well, but

- when you look all the work (to create, maintain, and improve)
- when you know it's a niche market (it's not call of duty or GTA with all huge associated cashflows)
- when we know only 2 pieces of paper in aviation (pro logbook) can cost more than this new update

- and when you do not have like me paid add-ons on other sims (FSX, x-plane...) that would allow you to make such missions,
- and when you was like me very happily surprised to see that in addition to already showed missions, commercial flights have been added on the trailer,

- and finally when you like me see in MS20 not only a tech environnement to test, flight, learn procedures but above all something that like no other simulator created in me that part of "dream" (with the OST, with the ergonomy/accessibility, with graphisms, with the full world modelized, ...),

Seems a very fair deal
Xbox only and steam later? and will it be published in 3 versions? does it has the option of an working air cargo business? in that case I will buy the "new" game.

what happened to "we will keep updating this game" and now its we want more money so buy this whole new game for 110 bucks or what ever
fr what the ♥♥♥♥ is this? They integrate an ingame store and give the impression they'll be focusing on making MSFS as great as it can be, now they're releasing a sequel when extremely important ♥♥♥♥ in MSFS is still largely non-functional (such as ATC)? Why the ♥♥♥♥ is anyone celebrating this? ♥♥♥♥ you microsoft, I'm switching away from your godforsaken operating system with the windows 11 stunts you've pulled recently and now you've lost all of my trust in your videogame division, what might have been there. Welcome to my boycott list.

Will this be released as a whole new independent product or will it be integrated into the present simulator and sold as an big upgrade sort of chunk data?

Its a new game.
Developer response please
Too lazy to look up.

Will this use the Steam downloader or the Microsoft downloader 2020 uses?
Based on the last MFS I pass this one
This looks gorgeous, I got goosebumps from the trailer. Too bad my graphic's card won't be able to handle this XD.
So all I am seeing is all the things that could be, and should by now be in FS2020

will it have raytracing? will clouds have more variety? will photogrammetry in countries other than first world countries be improved? no? thought so
I don't think ray tracing in MSFS does that much over HDR.
Brazil is in the pipeline, also parts of Africa. Eastern Europe. Some people say the USA is a 3rd world country too, so MSFS has that covered. Flight Simulator has never seen this level of photorealism since MSFS2020 and X-Plane and Prepar3D are nowhere close. So what are you complaining about?
