This has just worked for me for the green button press in steam and nothing loading up.
just to be clear I uninstalled MSFS 2020 in steam then renistalled it (it downloaded a ~500MB file and then the green button click problem ***at this point*** went away, it has just finally booted up the game and is downloading an 87kb file? and now the 90GB file.

you will be downloading (not yet running) and placing individually into their own folders the C++ redistributlbles for ([2015 both x86 & x64] , [2017 both x86 & x64] , [2019 both x86 & x64] )

the files downloaded into your download folder must make there way into here....
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist (or wherever you installed steam - default is the path I gave though).

so you should have folders in the path above as per below..... if not then create empty folders for the ones not there:
2010
2012
2015
2017
2019

Note: in each of the above folders in 2015, 2017, 2019, you should place what you have downloaded and each folder 2015,2017, 2019 should then have x2 files (also dont dont mix up the files when placing into the years... download individually and place into the year folder it is meant for).

you should now have x3 folders "2015,2017,2019" that you have been working with which should have x2 files per folder (6 files)

NB: make sure that the files when you ahve placed them into the 2015,2017,2019 folders dont have any numbers on the end of thethier names like (2) or (3), it needs to be the pure name, if it does then edit the name.

THEN RUN AND INSTALL each one of the 6 you have downloaded individully (2015 both, 2017 both, 2019 both).

Et Viola.

NB: you may get an error message with something already installed there, in that case go to your program files folder in control panel and delete the old 2015 C++ redistributlbles installation and reintall from the folders you have created in steam.

you can now press the green button (if not then try turning steam on and off, i didnt though.... and it worked)

This crap doesn't solve anything! I can't even install it ... I'm stuck at 74.38gb downloading the package "fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.002", it's impossible ....

Can you upload it to Steam and remove that horrible launcher?

Does anyone have it in Mega, Mediafire or Utorrent? -.-

Nice to see the installation issues fixed! That was my only problem with the game so far.

The update is not available to me no matter what I reinstall, relaunch, In Content Manager I can See a CORE CONTENT MANDATORY PACKAGES BY ASOBO STUDIO with 80.74 GIB.

But the Checkbox is greyed out, I reinstalled and nothing, I restarted several times and nothing, what should I do to get this Patch?

Make sure that it didn't reinstall the entire sim in your guy's SSDs or HDs like it apparently did mine. I had all the files routed to the same drive as when I first installed so I really don't know what the hell happened with this installer, but I just gutted everything from steam then took steam itself out and now got ALL MY SPACE BACK, and starting with fresh, hopefully SINGLE installs of FS2020 and DCS. This has been a pain in the ass, but still glad the sim released when it did. NOW if only we could get some actual sim fixes.

Fix the trees and building bugs!

I had no problems prior to this update. Now after updating, my game freezes on the [WELCOME, SET YOUR EXPERIENCE] screen every time I attempt to load the game.

The game is now unplayable post update.

runs great for me everything Ultra 4k but no contrails is just lame. Game needs a ton of TLC with the minor details.

love it, but would really like a fix to multiplayer. Right now it's like a 50/50 chance that your friend actually shows up in your screen even if you are in a private group. I want to fly with them but half the time we can't see eachother in game.
