Illogical ATC Instructions
a) Runway in use is R34 when wind is 177/24...?
b) During 1 minute IFR ATC send you to 11.000 ft, then to 3.700 ft, then to 9.000...
c) You are closing to destination airport and you should begin you descent and ATS tells you to Climb 11.000 ft...

Yeah ignore it when it happens and use intuition. It's being worked on.

This is, of course, what I do and I believe it is being worked on.. . :-) However, when I am asked to land with 25 kt tailwind, I always land on the opposite runway with headwind. Then, ATC tells me: "You were not cleared to land" :-))), It is just funny...

I've just tried adding ATC OPTIONS within the AIRCRAFT SELECTION in WORLD MAP.

1. You can add the Tail Number (to add by option 5).
2. Add a CALL SIGN which all voices read out in a very realistic manner. It's really amazing.
3. You can add a FLIGHT NUMBER of your choosing.
4. If you prefer to get a better direction that the instructions are directed towards you and not others, then you can add the word "Heavy" following your Call Sign & Flight Number.
5. If you wish to see the number on the side (not tail) but won't work on some Mods without some extra file swapping.

It has to be one word e.g. "MACMAN" and yes...it swears too just like they did in 'Meet the Fockers' :steamhappy:

Call signs (and probably flight numbers) only work with tubeliners. GA Aircraft always get "Manufacturer Tail Number."

Can you be specific? The ATC talks what we input regardless of Plane.
I think you mean only the Tail Number on the body for Mods which need files altered?

Well I just had the most illogical ATC instructions so far...
FP: VYKU > VYBG
Sat at end of very long Runway facing North-East
Request permission to Takeoff to the East
Told to Taxi and hold short...3km away at the other end of the Runway
To then Takeoff heading South-West :steamhappy:

@Macman, you can't find any possible reasons it might be requiring that? Things like wind speed and direction or traffic flow or departure route? Even what the ATIS was saying as to current active runways.

Personally, I wish they had a "disable ATC" button but it looks that is not in the works. Maybe if folks can start looking for reasons strange directions were being given, we could understand what was happening or why..

Ever consider VATSIM? Been using it a bit over a decade and love it.

When ATC talks to you, in a GA plane it always says "Cessna/Diamond/Dahmer ASXGS" (or your custom tail number), but will not use any custom call sign. Custom call signs only seem to work with the big commercial planes.

How do you disable the in-game ATC to use something like VATSIM?

I think you just disable traffic.

EDIT: Disable the AI ATC assistant also.

OK I'm getting entirely the wrong direction Headings for ATC Request Landings many times. It's as though the programmer has no knowledge of how it works. Same for Takeoffs too. This is after cancelling IFR to have Flight Followiing for other stops. The Runways themselves are marked correctly as is the POI Assist Markers. It's ATC totally wacko.

...or just change frequency. :-)

Are you saying there is a different frequency to each Runway Direction OR just to get rid of ATC responding to us to give us a bollocking upon touchdown?

If you are bothered by ATC, so just change frequency to another one (not used by that particular airport or ATC). Of course, in real life you must not do it :_))) But in this game, if you seek silence... :-)))
