For VR to be truly effective, one should be able to use the hand sets to control all the functions of the aircraft without the use of a joy stick Sandhill.
I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer, at least I've done the setup...
I don't fly any yet, I've only played Half Life Alyx which I found to be a great VR game and if you can do things like use controls in that game with the hand-sets (Knuckles) then why not a flight sim like FS2020...

You don't have it working in VR mode.
In VR Mode you get a cockpit view where you are "in" the cockpit, not looking at a big flat screen.
Here's my Dad on the yoke: (Jump to 3:33 for takeoff and review)

My stick can be seen in the previous video on my channel, they both auto center with pneumatic pistons which gives flying a super awesome fluid dynamic feel
I understand that may upset some. However what i don't understand is how "vr hands is a must' is such a driving point for consumers. Some say "oh in VTOL VR they do it right." However even those players will admit behind closed discord chats "yeah it's janky sometimes."
Those who've been playing Flight Sims a long time know you don't get the same amount of feedback from the plane without some sort of physical resistance from the stick/yoke. You might feel cool feeling like you're grabbing the throttle or flicking the switch, but is it worth misclicking the wrong button 4 times before you hit the right one?
Look, play how you want. All i'm saying is VR hands probably won't be in the next update
You thought you would misclick the wrong button 4 times before you hit the right one, because you thought that anything your virtual hand happens to collide with will instantly be actuated, with no button press required. Obviously that's far from ideal because it leads to numbers of accidental presses on your way to activating the control you wanted and feels completely detached from the movement you would perform in real life to actuate each kind of control.
You are so wrong. In VTOL VR they do it right again. When your hand is close to the cockpit panel, the virtual hand stretches out the index finger automatically. By moving your hand you can now aim at a button or a switch. Most importantly, it uses the trigger to perform the interaction.
For a button, press the trigger to press it.
For a knob, pressing the trigger will pinch it. You can now rotate your hand to rotate the knob, or press the thumb button to push it in.
For a switch, press the trigger to pinch it, then move your hand to flick it to a new position.
I hated the way the motion controls worked in X-Plane, and so did my Dad (a licensed GA pilot) which got me thinking, and wrenching on a fix -
Check out my video for the Magtube Mod! I built flight peripherals (floor based stick and yoke) that auto-center and attach to VR controllers magnetically
