DLSS 4 (310.1) is really good! FrameGen works better now.
DLSS 4 is here:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss4-multi-frame-generation-ai-innovations/

I just switched the MSFS 2020 DLSS version, the game is using, with the latest Nvidia DLSS 4 version (It is called 'DLSS 4', though the driver name version is 310.1).

There are already a gazillion YT videos on how this is improving the frame count in various game titles, by just switching to this newer version. Digital Foundry also had a more recent interview with the NVIDIA AI dev on that subject.

The most exciting part is the AI modelling update to 'Frame Generation'.

If you have used - or are using - NVIDIA Frame Generation with your RTX 40xx cards in MSFS2020, you will have seen that the images can be very unstable. You will see artifacts. Tiny assets on the horizon will 'flicker'.

This new transformer model, NVIDIA has developed, is already showing better results on older RTX cards.

Hopefully, the devs will not forget to replace their current (old) DLSS dlls with the new ones. It is one of the rare cases where you can get 'more performance' without any 'costs'.

If you cannot wait, you can do it yourself. Here is one tool, that does it for you. It is called DLSS Swapper. It is on github:

https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper

Just do not forget to switch the DLSS quality setting to 'J' in the NvidiaProfileInspector, you will also need.

I will look at this DLSS4 but wonder why Techpowerup still has the Version 3 as "LATEST VERSION"... (My card is 3080TI so not to use the other version for Repro)

... this new DLSS4 version is not 'officially' out.

I guess, Techpowerup has to wait for Nvidia updating the DLLs on their official github first, to be allowed to redistirbute it on their website. I was also looking there (and also on guru3d).

I have heard from several Youtubers, that Nvidia is going to release the official DLLs on Jan 31st. From then on, these new files should pop up everywhere.
