Shhhh its okay, if you read the form posts I bought a 4k monitor just cause. so its okay. 3090 still superior.
Ur cpu is majorly hold back that card. Not only in this game but likely in others. Not even a K sku...
Time to go R9 or i9.
I had great improvement with going into Nvidia Control panel "Manage 3D performance" and setting the card to "Prefer maximum performance" in the' Power management mode" and setting the "Texture filter - Quality" to "High Performance" and "Cuda GPU's" to "All". This forces all cards GPU's to be used ...the MSF app is not coded very well for multi-threading. I went from 20fps to 60fps
Watch this video on best settings to use with Nvidia cards and MSF 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKVhyOZaUcU
Thanks for the help
Devmode fps counter wobbles between GPU bottleneck and CPU bottleneck.
I updated the driver a week or so ago when notified of a new version (460.x) and my frame rates tanked. In other games also but MSFS was down to 20fps MAX. Unplayable. Devmode fps counter was flagging GPU as the bottleneck 100% - the performance loss was so pronounced it was as if the card had died or the cooling had failed.
Did a clean driver uninstall with DDU, reinstalled the ver.457 and I'm back exactly where I was with playable frame rates.
