Auto Throttle is the stupid red button on the side of the throttle. Don't let the sim bamboozle you
This way i use to land Airbus planes. Autopilot and Autothrottle was always on.
Setting flaps is also preventing the flight computer to set higher speeds.
Also sometimes the autopilot wants to fly to a wrong waypoint:
I was at the approach with a 787 and suddenly the autopilot wanted to fly to a waypoint which was hundred of miles away. It was one of the last waypoints and i were just right near the runway. Than i had to turn the autopilot off and fly manually in front to the runway than luckily the LOC and G/S was captured and i could do an ILS landing.
I hope we get an update which fix this. Also i hope that some of the "inop" knobs will get some function. The graphics are beautiful and the game has a huge potential. I hope that the plane systems get a bit polished than this game diamond could really shine.
It makes landing in Lukla really hard..

My guess is that you are letting your speed drop off too much. As others mentioned keep your speed near the recommended value until you hear "♥♥♥♥♥♥" then bring it to idle and your engines should spool down.
Thanks, gonna try this because I'm currently in the land of constant touch and go's with the A320
I am not necessarily saying that it's the game, but if there is a technique I need to use to be successful each time it would be nice to get some feedback from real or better sim-pilots out there.
I note Cratabo's comments and will take this into account when next flying.
Apart from getting used to the aircraft, physics and a couple of the bugs the game has - how fricken amazing does the game look!!! I don't have bad system but definitely not "high end", but still getting good frames with everything on at least "high" with a couple of things on "Ultra"
