A320 Throttle issue?
Going to land the A320, approach is all going well, throttle on idle, then for no reason my throttles max out at 100% causing my plane to pick up speed and crash. Every. Damn. Time I try and land the A320 - When it happens I have no throttle control at all, I can cut the throttle but sometimes it will only cut one engine. The only way I can land the A320 is if I shut the engines down and glide?!? I cant find any shortcut for reverse thrust either and for me, this plane is literally an unflyable deathtrap.

Anyone having this issue or know what tf is going on?

Just to have it answered on this post too

Auto Throttle is the stupid red button on the side of the throttle. Don't let the sim bamboozle you

At the approach set flaps full (step by step, the speed is decreasing by every step), arm the spoilers and set autobrake. Then when it say's "♥♥♥♥♥♥" set throttle full off.

This way i use to land Airbus planes. Autopilot and Autothrottle was always on.

Setting flaps is also preventing the flight computer to set higher speeds.

MS should NOT have released this game.... It's unplayable. The planes do random stuff... bounce around... turning random directions, throttle messed up.

Yeah the biggest problem in my opinion is the reliability of the autopilot. Especially flying tight curves is nearly impossible with the autopilot.

Also sometimes the autopilot wants to fly to a wrong waypoint:
I was at the approach with a 787 and suddenly the autopilot wanted to fly to a waypoint which was hundred of miles away. It was one of the last waypoints and i were just right near the runway. Than i had to turn the autopilot off and fly manually in front to the runway than luckily the LOC and G/S was captured and i could do an ILS landing.

I hope we get an update which fix this. Also i hope that some of the "inop" knobs will get some function. The graphics are beautiful and the game has a huge potential. I hope that the plane systems get a bit polished than this game diamond could really shine.

I have the issue to complete the A320 landing issues. I just deactivate A/THR manually by pressing the A/THR button in the AP panel or by pressing the red button on the thrust lever. But ANYTIME I am almost on touchdown suddenly the A/THR picks up again and full-throttles and completely messes my landing trial. EVERY EFFIN TIME. I have no idea how to deactivate this auto thrust completely.

I don´t think you can deactive the autothrust completely.. Usually it is the alpha-floor (A floor is written over the speed tape on the PFD) that goes haywire.. if you you can, don´t try to trigger it.

It makes landing in Lukla really hard..

my little red plane S2S goes into some weird up/down movement like it loses all power when i try to increase height or no throttle at all or weak (playing with mixtures). probably not only the a320...

Deactivating the Auto thrust system may help, but if you are hitting "Alpha Floor" the thrust will automatically go to TOGA (maximum power) regardless of whether the auto thrust is selected on or off. This is a design feature Airbus created in order to make it less.... crashable...

My guess is that you are letting your speed drop off too much. As others mentioned keep your speed near the recommended value until you hear "♥♥♥♥♥♥" then bring it to idle and your engines should spool down.

Thanks, gonna try this because I'm currently in the land of constant touch and go's with the A320

Been having the exact same issue. I had 6 attempts at landing at Milan airport using ILS - was leaving autopilot engaged until the "100" call then switching off to flare and land. Each time I cut the throttle and flared the engines would spool back up to TOGA and I would have to go around again. In the end I had to bury the damn aircraft into the runway to stop it happening.

I am not necessarily saying that it's the game, but if there is a technique I need to use to be successful each time it would be nice to get some feedback from real or better sim-pilots out there.

I note Cratabo's comments and will take this into account when next flying.

Apart from getting used to the aircraft, physics and a couple of the bugs the game has - how fricken amazing does the game look!!! I don't have bad system but definitely not "high end", but still getting good frames with everything on at least "high" with a couple of things on "Ultra" :steamhappy:

It's probably Alpha Floor. Like Ghostfacedkilla mentioned.

I've got the same problem, had it the first time at Kuala Lumpur Int. runway 14R. Did a ILS landing and then..... Autothrottle is active, I can not land there! It's frustrating.

I just had this issue but with the 747. Setup ready to land but as soon as I am just about to hit the runway the throttle goes full wack so you literally cannot land the plane :(
Sannan75 2020년 8월 26일 오전 8시 47분
My last few landings have been issue free. I've been keeping my airspeed up and throttle not closed until the last minute (at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ call) and it seems fine now.

according to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llww3z69gVU it's by design that autothrottle will spool up at touchdown if you have not already set it to idle. if its happening before touchdown, i think above posters are correct that you got too slow
