MSFS2020 wont launch on steam

For the people who can't start the game anymore, I had the same thing and looked everywhere but I found a solution that hopefully works for you too.

I had the problem of pressing play, it wanted to start up but didn't and then the green button with play reappeared and nothing happened. It was driving me crazy!

After a long search I found a possible solution! I have a Nvidia GPU myself, windows said it was up to date but I installed a new updated driver myself.... Then everything worked again! I recommend doing the same thing!

Hello Daniel,

I'm having the issue that you had since yesterday. What do you mean by "pressing play" ?? For me it's about to start and the black screen and I can see that it's just about to reach the FS 2020 and the screen freezes and that's it. I never had any problem since I started to play 3 weeks ago. I don' t have a NVIDIA but AMD GPU. So you solved the problem only by downloading a new driver ?

I didn't even get the black screen myself, I pressed play on steam, and then nothing happened. I solved this by going to the Nvidia site to download a new driver this you do by:

1: Find out exactly what graphics card you have in your system.

2: Search on AMD GPU driver, and choose the correct driver that is in your system

3: Download the driver and restart your system.

If this hasn't worked I recommend looking up tutorials on Youtube, or looking on reddit or asking for help in the Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord.

i know this is completely irrelevant but what gpu do you have?
