No Live Weather or Traffic, No Server Connections
Installed MSFS 2020 from Steam. I have no live weather and no live traffic. No multiplayer activity. It doesn't connect to any servers and Marketplace is not an active link. Assume I have no outside connectivity. I've signed into/verified Microsoft/XBox accounts on startup. If I'm missing something any thoughts would be appreciated. Wondered why the weather was clear everywhere and the skies were empty.

Update: Tried logging in with alternate Microsoft/Xbox account and same issue, No connectivity to servers, any data or Marketplace.

Additional Update September 25: I believe I found a way around the lack of connectivity. I was previously launching FS 2020 from the link on my Steam account. I've since discovered that if I launch the game directly from the link/icon created on my desktop at the time I installed it on Steam it launches with full online capabilities. I do not even open Steam. On startup, FS will go through the "Press Any Key to Continue" screen, then checks for updates and then loads into the game with full recognition of my Xbox Live account and all online functionality. When launching from within Steam it would always ask for a sign in, sometimes recognizing my Xbox account but it never got fully handed off into FS. I still need to "fix" my Xbox Networking on starting up my PC big that's not a huge problem.

If anyone is having trouble with online connection or FS recognizing your Xbox account when launching from within Steam you might try launching it directly from an icon on your desktop if you elected to add one when installing the game.

As noted in my original post, with online capabilities working, FS 2020 is nothing short of amazing!

Check your settings -> data. Check Firewall and maybe any anti virus.

Thanks. I did check Firewall and anti virus and data. I believe the issue relates to my Xbox Live login not being passed to FS2020 even though I login on startup. It did recognize my Xbox Live account once last night and that enabled me to access everything online - weather, traffic, servers, etc. Today it's back to not recognizing my login again. Wondering if I should try setting up a new Xbox Live account even though the Xbox site keeps defaulting to my existing account.

Update: Tried logging in with alternate Microsoft/Xbox account and same issue, No connectivity to servers, any data or Marketplace.

Having the same issue, still unresolved
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Try this ....Go to Windows Settings/Gaming/Xbox Networking and click 'Fix it' .

Click on your name at the top right of the Main Menu. Now click on Sign Out. That will disconnect MSFS from your Account. Now click on sign in and you will be prompted to sign in again to your Account. That will have re-set the link between Flight Simulator and your Account and should have cured the problem. Make sure your Status is set to Online and you should automatically join a server.

If it disconnects again, try changing your account password then do the above again.

This worked for me.

Try logging into "Xbox Console Companion" on your PC then launch the sim again. My game also refuses to log in if I'm not logged into this, even if I'm logged in using the regular Xbox app!? Go figure!?!?!?!!

Thanks. Did try that. Didn't fix it but was able to verify that connections are properly configured. Appreciate the comment.

Thanks. I've done that more times than I can count without success - both for my regular and alternate Xbox accounts. Haven't tried changing the password though so will try that next.

I found out that the problem for me was the data limit after i reached mine. Options>general>data. Set the limit to unlimit and you can turn on the online functionality. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I was set to unlimited data but will double check just to make sure.

I went thru days trying to figure this one out. My solution, after reading another post. Log out of FS2020. Then go to sign in, but do the 'forgot password' option and make a new password. I did this and when I logged in with the new password everything is back 100%.

Thanks for the response. I've tried as you suggest without any luck. I also tried changing my password directly on the XBox site and still no luck. It's weird as during the sign-in process it recognizes my Microsoft/XBox account with avatar but when it launches into the game it only reflects the name but the avatar circle is greyed out. It says I'm online but no server connections. More than a bit frustrating.
