MSFS crashing after nvidia driver update
Hey guys,

There's been an update on nvidia driver today and after installing it, the MSFS keeps crashing to with an error message:

"Your graphics device has encountered a problem and the application will exit. This may be due to graphics card overclocking, overheating or due to a driver fault".

Just wondering if anyone else has comes across this issue?

Cheers!

You might try clearing the DX Cache by Drive's Cleanup Disk Utility and also Delete files in the hidden C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache

Another issue with CTD upon hitting 'Fly Now' is to toggle ONLINE MODE ON.

Thanks, Bud. I tried all these and it crashed again, but after a little while.

I think I might have to roll back the driver, as I never had this issue prior to installing this latest nvidia driver update.

Thanks for the link, Maki.

I rolled back the driver and it seems fine now.

I'm having the same issue. Looks like I'll have to roll back the driver for now. I have an NVidia RTX 2080

Same here with 2080TI but roll back has not solved the issue.

Hey guys, I had one crash since I rolled back the driver, also running RTX2080ti.
However, worth mentioning that with the latest driver update, I was constantly crashing.

It has something to do with 3rd party plane driver fault. I got the same message. I changed planes and it worked fine after. Edit: Nope this don't fix it sorry.

Same here, RTX 3060 and CTD with graphics error will be rolling back to older drivers.

RTX 3090 with driver version 531.41, also get this "Your graphics device has encountered a problem and the application will exit." CTD on every session after a few minutes... So annoying, never had this problem before in MSFS. :-(

Same, since the last driver of Nvidia i have frequently this CTD too: "Your graphics device has encountered a problem and the application will exit."

I updated the video driver again and it still CTD.
I went back to a previous version of the video driver and it's stable.
It's the best solution for now.
I use PMDG 737-700 and some payware scenery and airports, if the issue could be due to the addons, as someone mentioned this could be the cause.

Same here... Just updated to the new Geforce Experience and I have the same issue in MSFS parties... May we send a message to Nvidia or create a ticket if they are currently not informed of that
