Yes the line turns magenta for all the prior waypoints to indicate its activation. It always seems to be before you expect the approach callout this happens. I tried a long haul from London to Sao Paulo yesterday and the exact same thing happened then too.
Also look up the Microsoft 787 tutorial flight document and use it in an actual flight. A little web searching will find it. It also shows you how to deal with discontinuities (both expected and errors) in flight plans.
Lastly, you seem to be familiar with the waypoints of your approaches, since you say the disconnect is just before you expect the approach callout. Well some approaches are DIRECT, with an initial waypoint that is just kind of hanging there in space, waiting for ATC to direct you toward it - There isn't actually a nav connection between this waypoint and the rest of your navigation waypoints. What happens is ATC will clear you DIRECT to that approach waypoint, at which point in the 787 you push the button next to that waypoint twice and then hit EXEC and your aircraft will then proceed to that waypoint and continue the approach.
Now you can ALSO just do this DIRECT method on your own (if you're not using ATC) whenever you want or need to. Whether its a software error or it's correct, you can always go direct to whatever waypoint you like and continue on from there. (slightly different from DELETING discontinuities, which you can also do if you like.)
Running this game can really be hard work and mentally exhausting at times... Sigh*
I select the waypoints to the left and right of problematic one and hit execute?
Okay I'll give that a look after this flight. Thanks
I forced myself to try SimBrief for the first time the other day in part due to your comment from weeks ago which played on my mind. It's pretty intimidating at first but when you read the manuals of the 78X and 748, boy does it add a sense of realism and depth when used in conjunction with AAU2.
Thank you!
