Unable to complete installation. Problem with Decompression fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage

Hello. I have a problem that I cannot solve with the installation of MSFS 2020. I specify that I had a first installation without problems and that I have already had the opportunity to make it work on my PC, without modifications to either the simulator or the PC. After leaving the simulator aside for several weeks, I tried to restart it. It downloaded the updates but it stopped on "fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage" I left it running for hours and nothing happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled ... no changes. I no longer know how to use the simulator. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

I have exactly the same problem. Perhaps if there is a disc issue we could get round the problem?

I have 50 hours in this game and i cant even get it to download ive been trying for days ive uninstalled and re downloaded the game like 4 times now i cant get it to download

The problem has existed since day 1, and the problem is that their downloader is just terrible and poorly written.

Programmers have been writing file transfer applications since before the internet existed. Yet, Asobo/Microsoft don't know how to get this right!

It doesn't seem to affect everyone, but it does affect a high number of the player base to see it pop-up on the forums again and again. Workarounds are usually to limit your download rate one way or the other.

You can try 3rd party software, or you can reconfigure your NIC driver to force connection only to 10 mbps ( instead of auto-negotiation )

At least they seem to have fixed the high cpu and gpu usage problem if the downloader was minimized. We are getting somewhere.

Download fs-base-cgl-9.1.49.fspatch.002 now with NIC at 10mbps got now to 7 % thats more than i got last 3 days...
I wil report here if it helps
Now at 30% jumped bach to 0% microsoft driver seems to be the problem.
So I installed original realtek NIC driver.
Asrock B550 driver from Realtec for Win10.
84% from 2.8Gb seems to do the job with 10Mbit half duplex....
Half Duplex running was sometimes nessery for large files in DOS times.
If this error still exists from then HORROR...
Keep you informed.
One failure set back to 66% and then the second file came in.
These were the files 174 an 175 from the Sim update III .
Settings are 10mbit/s and half duplex withe manufacterer driver of NIC
I am cooking again !

Hello Everyone. I believe more and more that the problem is with Steam! I downloaded Flight Simulator to an external hard drive at 4mbts / s ... 84 hours non stop! Everything worked fine. I even got into the game for 5 minutes. When I wanted to go back afterwards, the game did not start anymore. I checked the game files and Steam informed me that it needs to download 9 new files. After this download, all the Official Steam folder on the external hard drive was gone and MSFS offers me to download EVERYTHING again !!!!!!!! I wonder if I will ever be able to fly with this software.

Same here. If only they used Steam for streaming installation files in our folders, instead of their own crappy installer.

Do those who bought and use the simulator through the Microsoft Store have the same issues? Or is it just for Steam customers?
