need to completely uninstall and then reinstall
Hi guys,
Somehow I lost a bunch of FS2020 components after a forced windows rollback. The game won't function- I have no airplanes, and no options to select an airplane, adjust time, or fly in the world map screen. In the hangar, all my planes are missing. Yet the game seems to think it's ok. I ran a validation check and everything was listed as find. I tried to uninstall and then re-download the game, but all I got as a new iteration of the same flawed install. (I even manually deleted all the FS2020 files in Steamapps/common.
Any ideas? I am unable to remove the game or do an uninstall from the properties/local files menu. I'm out of ideas. I need to completely delete the program and re-load everything.
I filed a support ticket, but it may take a long time to actually get help that way. Any ideas?

If you go to ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator\packages\ on your C: drive, open it and you should find 2 directorys: "Community and Steam". If you delete or rename the Steam Directory, the next time you start the sim, you should see the download screen come up, eventually. Then, you can reload the entire 126 GBs.

I have deleted all MSFS files and all of Steam. Then reinstalled steam on another part of the drive and MSFS still wont reinstall. Just sits at the checking for updates screen. Steam says download and install but it won't.

Have you enough space? It seems that Steam and the sim like to default to the C: drive even tho you intend for the sim to be somewhere else? Once you get the update to find no sim, you can place the very large data files anywhere else BUT the sim executables and support files go where Steam is installed.

I have 782 GB free, I just don't know. I have watched Youtube videos and checked on line and tried so much I forgot what I did. I am thinking about wiping my whole D rive and starting out clean ? I will try my C drive but I don't think it large enough. I had the sim loaded and working fine then wham it stopped so I had the bright idea to Reload it.

Have you tried verifying the file or exiting and restarting steam? maybe restart the PC.
