Stuck when CONTENT MANAGER Packages Download begins. Anyone else?
So I'm getting stuck right as I click "update" button, to download the language packages.
On the bottom left, it only looks like it's flashing between "Please Wait" and what looks like it says "Downloading asobo-airport-eidl-donegal-0.1.23.fspackage.." , but no progress shows, and nothing else pops up.
At first I thought it was my internet download being so fast that I can tell that it's different files downloading, but no, it just flashes the same thing. Back and forth, quickly.
I left for about 15 minutes, thinking that it was just downloading, and it would eventually give me progress, or be finished, but it just showed the exact same thing.
I have plenty of space, and I have relatively fast internet, 348mbps.
I have restated the computer
I have Uninstalled and re-installed it. I have deleted all the files from my computer (including the roaming folder) and reinstalled it from scratch.

Nothing has worked.

I've seen a video where a guy was stuck in the same spot, but he didn't provide a solution.

And I've also tried the solutions that the main web page gives.

Any help would be appreciated.

When you started the internal download process it asked you to confirm a file location. Navigate to that file location and delete the file it created when you relaunch Microsoft flight simulator it will prompt you to pick a download location again. Hopefully it doesn’t get stuck the 2nd time around.

Best of luck

Unfortunately, I've already done that about 4 different times.
I have 2 Drives. I use the 2nd to actually install all my games. So I've tried every way possible
- Game on C: and Language Pack on D:
- Game on D: and Language on C:
- Both on C:
-Both on D:

Nothing has worked so far.

Which file, specifically?
I deleted the Packages folder, but the game won't even open after doing that

Did you relocate the update path manually?

If you deleted the packages folder you will need to use steam to verify the game files to get it back.

When you Initially launched the game you were presented with a screen that looks like this. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y8hc47n3fiwrkrr/Screenshot%20%2854%29.png?dl=0 The game asks you to select a hard drive location to Install the actual game. In my case I created a folder in The same area as the launcher files and named it " The cursed 95Gb" because of all the trouble I have had with the game.

Now if I was to delete that file called The Cursed 95Gb and relaunch the game. The game will prompt me with the picture shown above giving you the option to select the hard drive location to install the game. Doing this will start a fresh download of games files from 0%

I've done both, manually, and just let Steam and the game choose it for me. Neither has worked.

I'm pretty sure I've done this exact thing at one point. But let me reinstall windows, and do it exactly as you say.
I'll update soon.

UPDATE: It didn't work.
I think the problem is it doesn't even get to the point where it even starts downloading anything in the folder at all.
As soon as it prompts me to select a folder, I select it by clicking "update", and it instantly starts flickering as soon as I click, and it doesn't do anything else other than that.
It creates the"Community" and the Official" folders, but there's nothing inside. It doesn't download anything INTO the folders, it just flickers the "Please Wait" and the "asobo...." file.

Don't know what to do at this point.
I contacted Microsoft Support and I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

You have probably already tried this. I personally don't have any files in the area this discussion is talking about but figured it might help you.

I also ended up putting in a support ticket. Tried multiple times to download the game but to no avail. My biggest problem is the game decides to crash around the 13Gb mark and there is no way of continuing the download.

Hopefully the patch comes out on or before September 3rd and resolves issues.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Unfortunately none of the solutions worked for me. Here's what DID work for me:
- Contacted Steam support. They said they coudn't help me because it was on Microsoft's end.
I said ok. Any chance I can get a refund.Within 15 minutes, I got a notice that they were refunding my cash.
- Went over to the Microsoft store, and bought it directly from them.
-Downloaded it from them
-And voila, it works.

Ok, all kidding aside, Steam is great, and the support team is great.
But I honestly think it was some kind of conflict having to do with the digital licenses, and downloading the packs while having to check the license from steam, etc. Something along those lines, because while downloading it directly FROM Microsoft store, it was just like downloading anything else. I had no issues at all.
Honestly, I tried so many things, and had to reinstall my windows so many times, that if I would have known this is what would have taken to fix the problem, I would have asked for the refund from the beginning, and I could have played the game all weekend, instead of wasting my playable time figuring it out.

I hope there IS a fix to my specific issue in the future.

(By the way, it wasn't my PC that was the issue - this was confirmed by trying to download the game on my laptop, and the exact same thing happened)

The game is great. Steam is great. But the way Microsoft went about downloading this game, and how it's delivered to the customer is just bollocks.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Have a good one and good luck if you have this same issue.

I got the same experience. What I figured out was that the game kept using my system drive for update, even when I already chose another path when prompted.

I ended up relocating the update path in the configuration file, and it worked fine.
