World map range
Is range that is shown you can fly during course selection includes aux fuel or not? Because I can never make it to the end without turning on aux pumps on, even though my destination is within the circle.

are you configuring your engine for optimal cruise range? e.g. full throttle or flaps out is less efficient

Are you adjusting the fuel before you leave?

Nope

it starts you with 50% fuel, so maybe that is why?

Well, I keep the speed in the Green+White zone, when I gained a fixed altitude. Currently on DA62 I'm at 112 knots and 12000 feet and ~50% throttle. Flaps are in Up position.

Yeah, and if you increase it, the circle gets bigger.

A few of the planes have known range issues, like the Longitude and maybe the neo. Not sure about the DA62.

It tallies total fuel in all tanks, including reserves. If you fit the flight to the range circle to barely make it, you won't make it. It doesn't consider rates of burn for APU or engine startup, takeoff at TOGO speeds or turns on your flight plan. Even climbing burns more fuel at at higher rate. It only considers cruising speed to the destination in a straight line. You have got to err on the side of caution with the range bubble.

Oh, that makes tons of sense now. Thank you.

You should always have fuel reserve. Flying to the very edge of range is not good practice. Leave at least 25-30% reserve, could be even more depending where you fly.

It's not exactly on the edge, I think it's like 15% away from the edge.

Can you do that while still in the Free Flight planning map?
NicenJehr Aug 28, 2020 @ 12:36pm
Yes. There's a tab on the aircraft selection screen.

@OP : Do you lean your fuel/air mixture after you have arrived at cruise altitude?
