Cannot setup CH Eclipse
Every single flight sim, including all previous MS flight sims I have been able to easily setup every controller I ever owned except for my CH Eclipse.

When setting up the yoke in every other sim it was just a matter selecting the button, axis, etc. Not with the CH Eclipse. First it took some searching to figure out why it could recognize it but I couldn't assign anything. Once I found the solution to that I realized that you cannot just assign anything just by selecting it on the controller. Example: You cannot just select a button for gears up or gears down. You have to first figure out from the CH control panel that the left switch up is 5 and the left switch down is 6. They go in FS and tell it to use #5 for gear up and #6 for gear down.

Even the hat switch is ridiculous. When you choose to create an assignment, you have a choice from number 1 through I think 20 and then some various other options. That's it. So you have manually select from a drop down to use each view you want. Example: You have to manually enter POV Left, POV right, POV down-left, POV down-right. etc.

I finally gave up for a while. Got real sick of going back-and-forth with the CH control panel to figure out what button # to push in FS. The throttle and mixture controls made me give up for a while until I cool down. You have limited options in FS for these. You have something like L-Axis x, y, and z and R-Axis x, y, z and then you can choose from those options 10%, 20%, etc and full throttle/mixture.

I miss the good old days when you could be up and flying with all your customized settings in several minutes. I've spent over 2 hours just trying to get off the #$%&ing runway!

There are good videos on You Tube that show you how to program your controllers in FS2020. They really help to explain it.

I figured it out. I was making a mountain out of a molehill. I did a good face-palm though.

All you have to do is put the cursor in the "Search by Input' section and select what you want to use from the controller.
