The only other career I've tried is Aviatife, which is also free--and is also a grind if you don't become a donor. I believe development is dead now. The programmer basically disappeared without much clue to why, if you follow Aviatife's Discord channel.
One last career addon you may see references to is SkyPark by //42. It was in development a few years ago and then went quiet. Another company recently bought SkyPark and is promising to do something big with it.
In summary, Neofly 4 seems to have incorporated the best ideas of SkyPark, Aviatife, and probably other career management programs like Air Hauler 2, and continues to adapt and thrive in the shadow of MSFS 2024's similar (but reportedly flawed) career mode.

There are so many bugs in it now it is absurd. So now not only do they have to fix simulation bugs but also career mode bugs which, wait for it, have absolutely nothing to do with the core concept of flying a damn aircraft from A to B. This is why integrated career mode is a terrible terrible idea. Now if they made an API whereby other 3rd party devs could integrate their career mode and UI into the game, that would be something worth pursuing. I'm not sure why they don't just allow this to occur and have a plug and play system where the game calls out to 'X' for the UI and so forth and then 'X' runs the menus and so on. Then in the game, 'X' could use the API to generate missions, sceneries, etc. It is already possible to do this in FS 2020 as Neofly has shown, but I'm not sure why Asobo has not made an effort to allow devs to seamlessly integrate into the sim.
