Many people around here and on the official forums have made it perfectly clear why they are not happy with Microsoft's decision. You only need to read the pertinent threads, but since you are chalking it off as "whining", you are obviously not even interested in understanding the "whiners" so why should anyone even waste any effort explaining it to you again?
Go read the threads. Simple. Then you might "get it" (or not).
Oh, read some of those threads, where people feel somehow scammed, betrayed or whatever.
Most of them are just misinformed and spread false accusions like the devs had "lied" to them because MS promised to support MSFS2020 till 2030.
Actually Asobo/MS never stated that, they're going to work exclusevely on MS2020 till 2030 only. It also would make no sense for many reasons.
Others were asserting they could no longer use their DLCs with FS2024, although devs stated that the vast majority of them will be compatible with that version as well.
Some users feel concerned that Asobo won't be capable of maintaining the development of both MS2020 and MS2024 at the same time.
That's also nonsense. Asobo has got 550-600 people working for them and they've been working on different projects simultaniously for years now.
Pretty much they have some experience in that.
It's common that after the main development of a game is finished, like it's for MS2020, parts of the team are getting relocated to a new projects, and keep a small team working on the old project for maintenance, patches and add-ons.
So yes Asabao has the ressurces for that.
Microsoft Flight shouldn't be considered Microsoft Flight Simulator canon IMO. It tried to cater to everybody but ultimately it appealed to no one. Fortunately Microsoft learned that lesson befote building MSFS 2020.
